And Francois, I’ve met you inworld before. Stood right next to you and we’re pretty much the same size. Guess that makes you one as well.

Hopefully by the time SL catches up to modern technology and makes a viewer that is compatible with my graphics card without exploding prims I might log back on to go shopping.

There is plenty of good male clothes out there, but fact is, most guys know of them and end up shopping at the same places and then you get the ‘generic guy’ that lurks around SL. This is where shapes become so important but the fact that most people shop for them instead of making something unique means you get the army of clones around.

Anyway rant over, but this post makes sense on some levels, but I seriously don’t think it is that hard for a designer to make mens clothes that are stylish and appeal to people out there. I can also bet you that by offering a decent range of mens clothing, you will get the loyal guys who drag their gf there upon a new release, thus exposing yourself to these girls as well.

I take your issue seriously because, I had to dress the men in my Second Life. It’s fucking hard to find menswear for Assholes. As a lifetime Asshole magnet, I hope and pray that SL designers will make this shit easier for not only men, but those of us who have to dress them, and remind them to change their clothes.

RP/Fantasy/Gor designers make awesome male clothing, but get little notice on any fashion blogs. What’s up with that? Yet when places like a.c. Store try to make interesting clothing, people laugh at them, or worse.

I run a tiny little shop selling men’s and women’s clothing, and can say from my experience that, yes, it is much more difficult to make “realistic” looking men’s clothes – Skirts don’t require a lot of detail, but a pair of pants, OMG!!!

Why do I only have one pair of boots I wear all the time? ’cause I’m not into goth knee highs with spikes and buckles. Took me four days of looking, four bum buys to find them.

- Men should never wear sandals. Ever.

- A lot of the good looking male avatars in SL are women in disguise. I learned this from doing the Make Him Over hunt.

- While there are a good percentage of men who care about how their avatar looks, from my experience they’re still in the minority. Many men truly don’t care about how their avatar looks, because it distracts them from their goal in SL. I’ve attempted to make over many a male noob, just to be met with pure confusion. “Why are you making me so short? Why are my shoulders so narrow? Where do I get a dick?”

- Designers who still make baggy pants need to get off of their computers and out into the real world, because NOBODY WEARS BAGGY PANTS ANYMORE. Not even the thugged out types.

I never understood why men are on SL anyway. It’s so . . . girly here. *ducks as everyone throws things*

I am sure different situations is cause for different outcomes, but my statements are typically true. Women can not wait to get their hands on things, most men are not like that.

I can point out SEVERAL creators (already mentioned T. Hawks) who begin with mens clothing and end with womens. Again, there is a reason for that.

No, MOST straight men do not sit around all day and chat about fashion. However, ALL of my female friends are constantly on voice yapping about the new (insert various names here) releases. Not to say that all females in general do this, or that no straight men ever do this. But *typically*… females are just more prone to run out and get new releases.

Visit Kmadd, costa rica sim, or gloom shopping centre’s. Yes, there ARE quality straight male clothing out there. it does exist. Men DO buy it, and they buy alot. BUT not as much as women buy. Im not saying that if you take a male and a woman shopper that the women comes out with more stuff, theres other factors, ONE individual man may indeed spend as much as ONE individual women. But the amount of men doing this vs women doing this is different and it cant be blamed all on bad releases or bad advertising.

I read time and time again on SL forums where men make comments such as “ive been wearing this same outfit for months and im fine”… or their sl partners trying to “make them over” because of it. its not that there are no options out there, its that alot of them are satisfied with what they have.

Yes I am saying I believe him to be using glintercept, or the likes, to gain posession of others artwork, and using said artwork as the foundation of his building process.

Someone asked me if I had proof. My answer was NO.

These are personal beliefs I hold. And I will say it again – if indeed it is so, he WILL slip up one day and get caught.
