Linden Lab ditched the favoritism, highest bidder, or whatever they used to pick the last promo campaign. This time, they asked designers this past week to submit textures of items they would like to have in the showcase. Problem was, the designers were asked to submit 512×512 textures which obviously are not coded correctly in the display of LL’s website, (the images are cut off) something I hope they’ll fix shortly.

Some designers, obviously, are complaining. My personal opinion on this is that they now have what they want – promotion from Linden Lab, something they’ve been complaining over for years – but they’ll scrap at the little details, which seems petty. A link is more than enough from the LL main page, and customers can easily jump over to the XStreet listing for a better look.
I’m not normally a full on LL supporter, but damn. Cut them some slack somewhere, at least for a little while.

I’m all for cutting them some slack! They make a lot of mistakes, but at least this time they’re /trying/ to do the right thing by the community. Even though they messed up. They deserve points for effort
Seems like they can’t do right for doing wrong, bless ‘em.
I have never met as many Titty babies in my 40 plus years as I have in the last 3 in SL, ha!
I hope they are trying to fix it. It’s just like a fatfingered corporation to delegate things to people who have no clue. Then those people need to climb backwards up the bureacracy ladder to fix their mistakes, after first getting permission to do so, of course. It makes one wonder who pontificated the 512 measurement, and at what point at the conference table everyone present nodded their heads in agreement to that size, only because no one present knew it would mess up the page display. If I had a nickel for every meeting I was in where that knid of thing happened, I wouldn’t have had to spend my entire 401K to live after I was laid off by said bigazz corporation. The twits who made failure possible still have their jobs, tho.
It was supposed to be a new design based off feedback the Halloween promotion merchants gave.

The only change is the winter house where it says ‘home’.
Not only did the merchants have to jump through hoops with the photos but they also had to give fifteen word descriptions to be included for each item. Just like in the previous promotion, these descriptions were not displayed.
This promotion was supposed to have been due weeks ago that’s why the merchants are annoyed.
