funny how they try to cover their butt now... I saw my products there, they had taken my artwork posters and even copied my SLX description... SCAM SCAM SCAM.
The funniest part was: "we have not sold ANY of your products and do not intend to display them without your permission, it was an automated mistake".
mind that, they had ALREADYused our artwork for display. If it's a scam, they got called out.. and if it was really a test... wtg morons... now no one will ever want to buy anything from. Ha HA! Content creators spend long hours working on the stuff they proudly sell, and even a chimp would know that it only takes the content creator about 2 extra minutes of their life to add the artwork in the disc toghether with the content before dropping it at the place we register the intellectual property of our products.

I'd never heard of this site til this post, which is warning sign 1. That you have to use a credit card is warning sign 2. If anyone gets phished off this site, they're probably the same kind of people who respond to emails from their "bank" asking them to send in their social security numbers or are more than eager to help a struggling Nigerian prince with his long-lost fortunes. Fiscal Darwinism at work.

okay, judging by their name and logo, their obvious intent is to sell Second Life stuff, using Xstreet's template and images confirms this... Question is... why would anyone want to use this service instead of going to XstreetSL???

That cover-you-ass attitude is not going to fly. My advertising art is as much my intellectual property as the product myself. Every xstreet merchant ought to be talking to their lawyer.

I received an email this morning basically saying that the site was a live tester, was not meant to be seen by the public yet (???) or something like that, and the MX Server was not set up for memberships yet - but it was. They didn't leave a name of any sort for a signature. They did not bother to explain why they went ahead and lifted information from XStreet for their site, instead of making template/faux images like most normal development companies do.

I still call bullshit on this.

You're leaving a faux name, there's no "Joe Herts" in Second Life. At least leave your SL name - since you aren't doing that, I'm going to call your comment out as crap.

Also, what Ryker said.

This is what I saw posted on there last night, but looks like my comment was eaten:

Registrations have been temporarily suspended due to members signing up during our development phase.

The products on this site have been loaded for visualization purposes only. Please contact support@virtualget.net for more information.

To all product developers and creators: we apologize for using your content on this site. Rest assured, we have not sold ANY of your products.

We appreciate the traffic, but please wait until the site is launched before making press releases.

look at the message you get when you try to access the site now..

The site is currently down for maintenance. Please excuse the dust, and try back later.

Registrations have been temporarily suspended due to members signing up during our development phase. Update: We have taken the store completely offline until we get things straigthened out. There is alot of misinformation about fraud which we would liek to address. We had 0 traffic on this site as it was for demonstration purposes only to show a client what the commerce script was capable of. Nowhere on the site were users able to put in billing information. There were 5 accounts created other than the development and system accounts and they were all created today. They have also been removed.

The products on this site have been loaded for visualization purposes only. Please contact support@virtualget.net (update: the mx server was not even setup for emails, we appologize, it now works) for more information.

To all product developers and creators: we apologize for using your content on this site, it was added via a crawler to populate the site. Rest assured, we have not sold ANY of your products and do not intend to display them without your permission, it was an automated mistake.

Any complaints sent to the host of the site and the registrar have been dealt with and we apologize to anybody who came across the site during its development phase.

What? It doesn't matter if they refunded you or not. I have gotten at least 5 notes from various sub-o groups and real groups in game in the last 12 hours, ALL OF THEM stating that they found their stuff on this website and THEY DID NOT AUTHORIZE IT.

They are not actually selling these items at all. They just put them up so people will think they are buying them, when they really are not. Not to mention it is already HIGHLY unethical to put up items for sale when the person who owns the items did not give the okay to. That is on the verge, if not entirely, already content theft.

Credit card transactions (which is what this would've been) take between 5 and 7 business days, typically, to refund. So unless you did this over a week ago - I call BS. And if you're not lying, how about prove it - could you show us your credit card statement where the charge/refund was made? That should be a relatively easy thing to do if you're telling the truth. And it would let us all know who to look out for on our credit card statements. :)

Atlantic Towers Holding Corp. sold 1237 Avenue Z, #6B on Jul 25, 2005. The property was bought by Moisey Uretsky for $227,000.

Hosting seedy porn and other questionable web sites seems to be a hobby for this guy. Only around 5 domains or so.

Perhaps a front for the russian mafia?
Should LL be concerned now?

Is "What Me Worry?" the label under LL's top dog's picture?

Thanks for posting this - I hope everyone gets the word out quickly as identity theft is no joke. A colleague of mine was actually arrested and detained a few days because a thief who had been caught had stolen her identity and gave her name and a fake id, etc to the police when arrested. When the thief did not show up for the court date, my colleague was arrested and sent to Seattle. It took a few days for her to prove she was not the thief. This was in addition to the more standard credit card and financial damage she went through from the id theft.

Anyone who thinks it's okay to risk a few people getting swept up into this sort of fraud so folks have time to complete their paperwork simply has their priorities out of whack.

I just read this in their "Shipping Policies" and _had_ to share it:
"
In the event that your items are not received within 24 hours of order confirmation (NOT from order placement), you may contact support and ask for the status of the 'delivery'. Some items are not sold directly by us and require that we first obtain them or confirm that they can be delivered by the third party."

You can contact realitychecknetwork via abuse@realitychecknetwork.com.
Send them email explaining the abuse. They are the network providers for the "bad guys", and should take action.
To take additional legal/law enforcement action you will most likely need a victim.
