The major hole in your "theory" here is that when you steal content, and especially pass stolen content, you are having a pretty terrible effect on the people creating the items, not Linden Lab. If your beef is with LL then do something to them, don't hurt the people who rely on sales to keep their stores active.

Skulls, this thing is a damn VIDEO GAME, and this is what happens with VIDEO GAMES. We've had the "aimbots" on doom and quake in the past (yes I am old), then we've had lots of cheat-stuff on other online platforms. We have similar stuff on WoW as well for a long time, so don't expect Second Life to be different. It will be ALWAYS the same.
If you want the source code of my proxy, I'll give it to you, I don't care, it's written in C# anyway, so anyone can have it. And BTW you will see that it was written from scratch, not some retard "commented out" stuff.

1. emerald is free to download and the code is there, you can download it, modify it, use it.
2. there are exploits wherever software is. i didn't see anyone distributing a credit card exploit manipulation software, simply cause they'd get in jail. Maybe he should have his butt dragged in a rl court to explain how and why out of the goodness of his heart he caused people losing their rl money when they had their investments stolen by his viewer. However choosing the safe "anonymous" way is more cool. Heh.
3. Cryolife is obsolete and detectable. Neilllife is still under development and all users of it keep yaying happily on his blog "let's steal!, nice work" in his page.
4. There is a thing called responsibility and respect. Look it up in a dictionary. People have to respect other people's properties, digital or material and the way they want to experience secondlife, without using illegal tools to steal them and make them feel they live in a ghetto where you can't even walk without being attacked.
5. There's NOTHING you need in sl to survive. You can't afford an expensive item? Don't get it. That simple. Well, the problem is that some people are losers in RL (and in SL) so they need to bring everyone else down so they don't feel so bad about being failures. They usually have a 'cause' to justify their reasons, but the real reason is that they are just jealous of what other people have that they don't want to work for out of laziness.
Just look at Clara's writing, for example … they are too LAZY to even construct a proper sentence, let alone do a spell check.
I'm getting fed up of all this entitlement in SL, especially by people who have done (or will do) anything to deserve it. I absolutely agree with last Man_In_A_Skirt post.I also like Mokba's posts a lot.I just would like Neil not to be considered as the Guilty one. Better, nor guilty at all. He claimed several times he just took possibilities from open source code distributed by Lindens themselves and coded to make a viewer. So Lindens are liable for what they put on the net themselves. What Neil did is just coding these possibilities so that they could be accessible to a larger amount of people, being part of a modded client and provided with a graphical interface. Llab should know that, so they asked to limit the use of thier source code as a ther of use of that stuff. Same thing did Neil, putting a TOS text file inside his viewer folder. So what's the difference between his behaviour and LLab behaviour? Why should I blame him and not Llab?

And in my opinion it's a huge mistake to mix open source platforms with RL credit card systems. Looks like people are not responsible enough to handle the freedom they got and the best solution to end this is to leave the open source projects for kids who wanna play, and use a closed more secure platform with restricted options to ensure everyone privacy and content security.
I don't wanna be around when someone discovers a hole in the L$ balance and CC system and they decide (out of the kindness of their heart) to share this exploit with everyone to "help LL fix their code".
So yeah, end 3rd party viewers and get on with all this drama already. And if anyone wants to create something, let him build his own software and his own world from scratch (instead of using 99% LL code and bitch about it) and then be proud about it.
