Evony: Second Life Avatars?

Now they’re really fishing.

Sigh. I was enjoying lamebook too. By the way, her tits totally flash. Green to blue, off and on, like some kind of fucking nipple strobe light.

Does anyone know whose SL picture this actually is?

Update: It’s Harper Beresford! Thanks to Kitty Lalonde for spotting it! (FYI – the original picture does NOT have flashing tits.)

  2. Yep.. it’s mine. http://slfashionpassion.wordpress.com/2009/09/05/fantasy-girl/
Ah imitation is the finest form of flattery isn’t it? Can’t even do their own photo ;)

  3. admin says:

Harper, have you emailed them and called them out on it? It’s hosted on Flickr, and therefore protected by Flickr… luckily :)

  4. Elsa Weatherwax says:

I tell my boyfriend “Play now my lord…” Harper I hope you sort them out.

  5. I found the evony ad once I opened Internet Explorer as my normal browser has ad blockers. I will be writing to both lamebook and evony.

Can you please also take down this image as it is protected under copyright law in the United States and is derivative of a work I have published on flickr.com :) Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  6. Terry T says:

I don’t think Lamebook has much control over their ads, due to the random generation. You’d want to go to the ad company that they’re using and tell them. Evony is constantly ripping off other game artwork and badly photoshopping it together; just recently I saw Paine from FFX-2 on one of their ads. To my understanding, they’re a sad Civ-style game based out of China looking to rip people off, and they don’t give a damn that they’re ripping off people other than their player base.

  7. Nivaya says:

Wow I havn’t seen an Evony ad for ages, I’d assumed they’d been “stopped” in some way. They’re beyond notorious for stealing images of pretty ladies from all over the place, which have nothing whatsoever to do with their scammy game.

  8. hatman says:

I just saw this image on isohunt. *laughs*

  9. caLLie cLine says:

she’s my lady, and i don’t give permission for this photo to be used anywhere!!! please remove it henceforth!

  10. stephen venkman says:

That’s interesting. Now it’s probably cool to take down the image as It appears no one should be using it.

Thanks for keeping us in the know.

  11. Truth Sayer says:

fuck that dmca shit. sue them. make a ton of money. hurt them bad enough to put them out of business.

  12. hatman says:

Um…why hasn’t it been removed if the original creator of said image has asked you to take it down days ago…? Anyone?

    • fray jigsaw says:

Because when Tenshi is hypocritical about the things she posts about, she never posts in the comments section of that post ever again. Psychic dissonance resolved.

      • hatman says:

I’m beginning to see how this website works…in that it doesn’t, you know, work. The content might as well be created by pantless robots masterbating to pictures of toasters.

  13. istillhatethisblog says:

Actually, she’s probably technically allowed to leave it up because this article would most likely fall under Fair Use.

That being said, “technically allowed” is not always the same as “the right thing”… but you didn’t all expect Tenshi to show some integrity NOW, did you? I mean, is it the first time you’ve read this blog? Did you just rez yesterday?

  14. admin says:

Sorry guys – it’s a screencap, I’m not using it to advertise a service, make money, or claim as my own, but for journalistic documentation. It stays up.

  15. yeah right says:

lamebook is funny as hell! i LoL’d very much at it.

  16. JYY says:

    get a bloody life

  17. Daria says:

Oh god…Evony is rather notorious for photoshopping costume order websites for their ads but..seriously? SL avs? First off, I have yet to see an avatar that I would consider “hot” and second, how low can they go? Whats next? Stealing custom Sims from ModTheSims?

  18. Daria says:

Its Chinese multiplayer Civilizations pretty much. I play it. It can get pretty fun, but the ethics behind the company is typical of the Chinese pirating community. My ex used to do the pay-to-play and his card hasn’t been stolen so I guess thats covered, but half their in game material is copypasted from Civilizations and their ads tend to be pictures from Halloween costume catalogs photoshopped in with “Save me my lord! Play Evony” or something.
