We all know we read SCD for the drama. The fashion is awesome, the reviews are great, but we all, deep in our dark little hearts, love the drama. Well guess what, loyal SCD readers? Have I got some fresh-off-the-griddle drama today! Personal, butthurt drama from yours truly. Does anyone remember the Brutal Honesty blog?
It’s actually an old story. In 2007-2008, a blog was made solely for the purpose of harassing Tenshi and I (and some others). Why? Well, that was a little vague. There were three bloggers on it, Lothion Utorid, Tina Travanti and Lizbet Darcy. These were the alts of SL business owners. It was pretty quickly uncovered by some intrepid friends that the bloggers really were:
Luthion Utorid/Elexor Matador (He used to own a jewelry shop in SL)
Tina Travanti/Amelia Abernathy who now goes by Shelby Ziskey (Elexor’s girlfriend at the time)
Lizbet Darcy, well, we never knew who she was. Last week, Elexor decided it was time to make amends for his bad, bad deeds. He was apparently going back into business in SL and wanted a clean slate. He IM’d all the people Brutal Honesty picked on and asked, nay, begged, for forgiveness. He IM’d Tenshi and several other people and told them the identity of the third mystery blogger, the infamous Lizbet.
He made Tenshi promise not to post the chat log or reveal the blogger’s identity. Guess what? I’m not Tenshi.

If you read the first link above, you’ll see that the Brutal Honesty gang were more than mean. They held a photo-contest in which they offered a cash prize for a RL picture of Tenshi or her son (the part about her son was added later by a commenter and deleted by the mods, just to be fair). And that wasn’t the worst of it.
It was a daily barrage from them. It got to the point where we were seriously afraid in RL because of the way the bloggers egged their many commenters on. There was more than one discussion about us being shot in the face. So if it seems like I’m playing a grudge here; I am.
I’m not going to go much into the history of the Brutal Honesty blog and it’s downfall once it’s owners were outed as alts, but I hope you read the links located above the cut to get the idea.
When Tenshi agreed to IM Elexor Matador back, he told her quite a story. He blamed the entire idea on his girlfriend, Amelia Abernathy/Shelby Ziskey. You can read her crappy blog here. Enjoy the hits, Shelby!
After Elexor and Amelia/Shelby were named and shamed in the fashion niche, they disappeared. Elexor’s business failed and Amelia couldn’t take it and made some alts. We always wondered about the third blogger who escaped the heat. Now we may know who she is:

Kit Maitland was allegedly the third blogger at Brutal Honesty. Kit Maitland owns a clothing shop called CKS Designs. Back when the BH blog was going strong, Kit was a close friend of mine. I don’t have many close friends in SL, so the ones I have I remember. I remember talking to and relying on Kit back when it was really bad, when I was afraid some crazy internet person was going to shoot me or something. I can only imagine how much Kit must have gotten off on that, if she were involved. We drifted apart after BH broke up and I always wondered why. Guess I know now.
In case you’ve forgotten, Kit Maitland may be a bit of a white supremacist, as seen at Fashion Fair 08, where she had a confederate flag outside her shop. Yep, not only is she possibly morally corrupt, Kit Maitland is a possibly morally corrupt racist. Awesome.
You can yammer on at me about how the confederate flag is a symbol for rednecks loving where they’re from and all that, but I’m from Georgia originally and I still think that having it means you support slavery and oppression.
Really, I have no proof of this except the word of a liar. Elexor Matador’s only able to be trusted as far as you can throw him, and I hear he’s a pretty hefty guy. One thing struck me as ‘off’ though, when checking Kit’s Plurk timeline:
The quote in that conversation is from someone who Elexor outed Kit to. She was personally crushed when she heard the news, since BH picked pretty hard on her designs and called them amateurish and ugly. She’d considered Kit Maitland a friend, as well.
I already explained that ShelbyZ is Amelia Abernathy’s alt. They’re being pretty flippant and arrogant about Kit being named as the third blogger.
As for Amelia/Sheby’s claim of it not even being true, I recieved this IM from Amelia the night before the story at the Herald outing them went live:

Um, yeah, that totally sounds like someone’s who innocent.
There’s definitely something fishy going on here. Between Kit’s weird plurks, the sudden boredom with people she held close to her after BH died and the confederate flag love, I’m smelling a bit of a rat. Either that, or Elexor is a triple-dirtbag now.

Darby hung around on the sex sims and met a nice boy, whom she then proceeded to tell she was leaving SL because it was just getting too serious.
She then came back on in her Shelby alt to fuck all his friends right under his nose.
Of course, the silly so n so didn’t realise we all knew who she was, as she looked exactly the same and acted exactly the same.
Naturally, in her slimey way, she got him banned from the sim.

I have to add on here that if E is telling the truth, he’s a backstabbing weasel for outing Kit to so many people. If he’s lying, he’s a dirt bag for throwing Kit under the bus. Either way, this is a no-win situation for him and I hope he doesn’t attempt to play the victim. The rest of our conversation was not a respectful apology; at one point he inquired if he had to swap spit with me now. It was possibly amusing to him to see my obvious discomfort and quite evident to me that there were other aspects to his words at play other than what he was telling me.

I find it hard to keep up with my one avi I have no idea how these people go about keeping up so many detailed and evil personas.
As an intimate friend of an intimate friend, I am aware that Amelia Abernathy used to teleport Bethany Heart to little pow-wow sessions where they would chit-chat about the upcoming Brutal Honesty post. I wonder why Elexor is suddenly saying Kit?

A couple of weeks ago, on the SL Revolution blog, Catero had a post about a designer who allegedly made racist comments in voice chat, but refused to state who the designer was. Do we have a winner?
Let us not forget Bethany Heart had partner at the time and he also knew who BH were and he was a store owner and attacked by the blog too and I also believe another store owner knew who they were too cannot quite remember the store name but I think it began with N, M? Something like that. I do not believe they was involved but how did so many people know who ran it and not warn those getting trashed?
I feel sorry for all the “friends” of all these people that were totally trashed on the BH site for no reason whatsoever except the pair that ran are maniuplative and disgraceful and now all the friends of those people that are suspected of being involved just because of the association they have with these people.
But BH were not the only anonymous blog there was also GBU and two of their writers still run succesfull businesses. I think that goes to show you can pretty much do what you want in Second Life and get away with it.
No, A Nony Mouse, Kit wasn’t the designer Catero was referring too. Kit actually isn’t a white supremacist either. The flag was a mistake – from a box of pirate flags. The error was caught by Kit and corrected before the blog post about it was published.
I hope everyone here is clever enough by now to not buy into the sensationalism of this post.
