Chicks with Guns

I’ve spent loads of time and $L in SL trying to find guns, specifically guns that don’t look awful but the biggest problem I have had is trying to find a gun that wasn’t huge, and comical in a female avatar hand.  I am using for this post the ‘Love Gun’ from pixel mode, and it shoots kisses at people but for the purposes of pictures, it looks great.  I am not the most technical of people so don’t need all the fancy options most guns come with, I just need it to look reasonably cool ;)

Now the skin….. unless you’ve been living under a rock over the past month this is one of Curio’s ‘Battle Royale’ skins, and despite of or maybe because of all the bizarre controversy that blew up shortly after their release, I bought the fat pack :P I love these skins, been wearing them virtually constantly ever since I got them.

The skirt is one of my early purchases in SL, and I still wear it regularly, its from League and I love the belt detail.  It doesn’t have the crotch flap either, it’s more a ‘tube’ thing, but it works.  Hair-wise, I am not usually a fan of long hair in SL, and usually go for short or updo hair, mainly because of the prims cutting in through the avatar mesh and also because they just look very 80′s (and not in a good way) but this hair from Exile is just stunning, I love the ‘messy’ style of it.

The poses I’m using are Niqotine, who I don’t really hear enough about, I have several of their fat-packs of gun style poses, and although I don’t like guns in RL, in SL it’s a little bit of fun to pretend to be a badass.

I like my J-lo guns… I’ve had them near enough forever… and I bought em cos they’re pink hehe

You can buy sculpty pistols made to look exactly like real pistols. Like a Walther PPK/PPM that fits the female form nicely. Add scripts and done.

Well I bought them anyway. For a steep price. Pretty useless now that the rules are tightened up and you can’t sell anything that resembles a real life product. Guess they will make good “add scripts for fun” mod/copy/no transfer freebies.

OH MY GOD THESE IMAGES DEPICT RAPE!! RAPE!!! VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN!!!

    • Witty, clever, and oh so very thoughtful. A trenchant commentary on an important issue — depictions of violence against women — that you clearly don’t think very important.

In point of fact, this is precisely the use for which these skins were putatively designed. And although I am not especially keen on depictions of violence of any sort, neither I nor any one else I know is likely to have much objection to their use in this kind of context.

Darkley, thank you for this: “although I don’t like guns in RL, in SL it’s a little bit of fun to pretend to be a badass.” Doubtless we will hear from others who think that gender equality is all about packing bigger weapons than the men, but I, for one, applaud you for making an important distinction.

I have no idea if you a being sarcastic Syclla as its notoriously difficult to convey in type, especially in a stranger.

I ‘clearly’don’t think that violence against women isn’t important? Where on earth do you get that from btw?

    • Since Scylla’s comment is indented under Tenshi’s, that means she was replying directly to Tenshi’s trollbait comment. That’s what she’s directing her first paragraph at.

She then goes on to say that, while she’s against violence in general, she doesn’t find these pictures offensive, and actually thanks you for a positive portrayal of women.

Just thought that needed clearing up

    • Annyka has explained my comment very well (for which I thank her). I was not being in the slightest bit sarcastic about your feature, Darkly. On the contrary, I was complimenting you for the way in which you concluded it.

as a female that has suffered violence and had 5 gunmen at my door in RL
I am NOT offended at this post, it is NOT depicting anything bad against women or anyone else.
It IS very well thought out and creative – so much different from normal blog posts and things posted on main feeds. – well done ,I hope to see much more of your creative blogging here

    • No one here that I see — least of all myself, Beulah, if this is directed at me — has suggested that you SHOULD be offended by this post, nor that it depicts “anything bad against women.”

    You look badass!
