Lourdes’ SLife of Luxury: Summer Elegance with Nicky Ree

When you ask most old school SL residents where to go for formal wear one of the first names mentioned is Nicky Ree. But, I am not old school.  When I first hit the grid a year ago Nicky Ree was way out of my price range and I gravitated to other more reasonably priced formal wear designers:  Sascha, Adam & Eve and Blaze to name a few off the top of my head.    I recently, ran across Nicky Ree’s Cecilia Collection, and instantly loved the Beach Swim Sets.  I think this would classify as formal swimwear if such a thing exits.

The Cecilia Beach Swim Set comes with various options:  bikini, capri pants, sarong (system skirt) and robe/cover-up and hat.  The colors available are purple, yellow, red, pearl pink, pink, green and teal. Limited edition peach and khaki choo (looks like camouflage) are available for a limited time at the LeLook location).  Did I mention I <3 LeLook?  I don’t like most malls.  I prefer to go to a store’s main location. But the LeLook exclusive items give customers a reason to go to the mall locations.  Anyway,  I digress…  here is Cecilia in Pearl Pink, below. (click for larger pics)

The hat and robe/cover-up just scream; “Lounging on the beach at my beach home in Martha’s Vineyard and I have no intention of ruining my swimsuit,  hair,  makeup or pearls by actually getting in the water.”  I am allowed to dream, aren’t I? :p

You’re probably wondering to yourself,  “Where did she get those gorgeous nails?”. If you aren’t just pretend for a minute. :p The nails are my new favorite,  have to wear every day with every outfit item. They are from TBP (The Body Politik) and they are awesome.  Honestly the best prim nails I have seen on the grid. You can chose between square tip and rounded tip and for L$200 you get 9 french manicure colors and 25 solid colors.  Tintable glove and 4 different hand sizes (10-40) are included. They also have the obligatory hand animation included so you don’t get that annoying thing where the nails are floating between you fingers.  But that is not all.. going to give you a close up so you can see.

Not only do you get the color options mentioned above, but you can optionally add nail art to your nails. Above I have the rhinestones on, you can also choose gem hearts, open hearts and roses all of which you can change the color to fit your manicure.  The optional nail art is about L$75 for each.  Which is still a good deal. How many of you out there are paying L$100 or more for one color or one color and one art design? Times are hard save yourself a few lindens.

  7. There is a gentleman in Curacao who lives aside the sea. His eyes are clear as the ocean waters and, like the sea, he is strong-willed. his name is Bert Knubben.(64) He is on the beach of the BREEZES Resort Hotel and a artisan of the exclusive “kings” black coral jewellery which he pig-headedly insist must be written black “koral”. A solid touch, since the initials are his own and in Curacao, he is synonymous with this valuable gem which he fastidiously makes in his tiny workshop, the KORALART gallery, together with his pretty wife Fennie, on the palm sands of the Breezes Resort Hotel.
