I finally got around to making my Hair Fair picks and sorting through quite literally HUNDREDS of hairs to do so. I had some basic priorities – they had to have decent textures, decent prim work, great concept. They also had to NOT have a black or silver hair in the demo. The reasoning behind this is that black and silver tend to hide major prim mistakes.
I’m also including my own personal notes so you can see if I had a comment about the hair or not. A few of them really stood out. Hit the jump for the .gif and list. Pay no attention to the numbers, but in case you’re interested, there ended up being about 40 hairs.

I desperately tried for a week to find the FOAM booth but to no avail. Apparently there is a mystery surrounding these designers – if you do a people search for them, they do not show up. Rumor has it they were banned for being minors. This makes Tenshi very, very upset. I was really getting addicted to Foam hairs.

Wow I could see that your prim eyelashes are miles away from your avatar’s eyelids in some pictures, while aligned perfectly with your eyes at other angles. You might want to try some new ones or just start over on fitting these, if they are your favorite.
Some of the sculpties in your screenshots also looked extra blocky (Dernier Cri’s Michelle, Kin’s Bria) , which I think could look better with higher graphics settings. If not then that is the sculpty map’s fault and I apologize.
Other than that, a lot of the hairs look great, but I wonder why so many have “handles” on either side that look like the 21st century equivalent of princess Leia buns.
wasnt there a hair that was like Demonia but with the horns on top of the do, instead of the sides?
Yuvi: I was actually experimenting with eyelashes while taking pics. There are a couple different ones shown. The ones that are NOT fitted to my face were trashed out of my inventory after I got frustrated trying to publish them.
Kin’s Bria looked super blocky to me too, and I had my settings up as high as SL will go. Pretty sure it’s the sculpty map.
(which makes me sad.)
I saw so many damn pigtails and Leia buns that I actually culled several styles because of it. As I said, I gave points for creativity… constantly seeing pigtails doesn’t seem creative to me. :\
Oh, also: I didn’t edit those pictures in PS whatsoever beyond adding text and putting them in the .gif.
I’m still pissed about Foam though.

The amount of time you must have spent on this amazes me. It is a great way for us challenged ones to be able to see many of the style offerings. Thanks for the work you did in this.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if a large number of designers / bloggers are actually children. Great to see children with talent, but main grid SL isn’t the place for it.
I was a member of FOAM..We only opened up a shop to you guys because it isn’t worth it to release them on our grid.. We had no idea how big of a reaction it would cause. It was fun while it lasted… and yes.. We are teens
