I was going to blog one of 2 shoots that Raven and I already had in the can, but neither was suitable, so I scrapped that idea, and thought I would just type what came on its own.
You may have either heard my bitching on Plurk or read some of it here, on my horridly degrading Internet service. I cannot do anything about this. I have no other options. I am very rural, and until the big conglomerate decides it is worth their while to put out the cash to string my backroad, I am pretty much screwed.
The wireless cell extender tower that I get my signal bounced off of is over booked and worn out, and my internet is now barely slighty better than dialup. I used to be able to get some bandwidth after midnight when the rest of the homes off the same tower went to bed, but I can’t even bank on that anymore.
Why am I subjecting you to my whine? Well now. See, it’s like this.
I love fashion blogging, and blogging about things I love…whether it is someone’s design work, a great sim, or an art display. When I only have bits of decent online time, my actual “Life” on SL is chopped into trying to find something awesome, trying to rez vendors, trying to dress, trying to rez my outfit, trying to do a photoshoot.
I am a Virgo to the core, and can not whip off a fast shot, and slam up a list of basic info on what I was wearing. You may have noticed. I need good pics, detail, and slurls. I can’t do a crappy job. So this brings me to making a choice.
I love my Second Life. I miss exploring, hanging with friends, dancing, having long talks, just playing and having fun. The ability to do all these things has been shrinking along with my bandwidth. I want to be able to do that, in the limited window that I am allowed, so I have to make it so.
I am giving up my scheduled Friday spot on SCD, and hope to be able to spend the time I would have spent on the blog doing the things that give me the joy that keeps me in SL.  When I do get occasions to blog, I will throw them up on my sadly neglected personal blog at islelunasea.com. I am still going to be around, shopping and fashionista-ing my face off when I can, but just can’t commit to a schedule, and SCD has no shortage of bloggers wanting a spot.
I am grateful to Tenshi and Iris for giving me the opportunity to blog and be exposed on the most highly read SL blog in existence, and I know I will be kicking my ass as soon as I hit “publish”, but I know I have to do it.
I will leave you with a shot that I actually got to take myself and play with when I was at work the other day. Being the Tech and network admin has its benefits.

I call this picture “Time”. That is all I want.
Thanks again SCD, and loyal readers.

Sometimes you have to do what’s right for you!
/me sniffles at the loss of your posts, but is glad she will still see you on the grid.
I’m sorry you have to put up with that bullshit. If they can’t provide you with good service, you shouldn’t have to pay for it. I really hope your neighborhood gets wired sooner than the fall. Sheesh. I’m so disgusted with the situation that I don’t know what to say, and it’s not even my internet connection!
I am glad that you will be using your time on SL for happy things, though, and I hope you get all the time that you wish for.
I’m sorry that you have to go but I’m glad that you are doing what’s best for you. Always listen to your heart.
*hugs* All will fix itself in time!
Hey. Well said. You’re writing rocks and I’m gonna miss the brainstorming and stuff, but there’s a lot to do in the huge world of SL. Looking forward to it.
Awww I will miss your post but living in a town of 3000 just this side of hell in AZ I can feel your pain! Go have fun but know that you are missed.
Oh that photo rocks btw!
Bye Isle. Thanks for all the great words. You will be missed here. *bookmarks your personal blog*
I feel for you – my connection is eratic and poor too being also in a rural area – i very rarely venture onto sl during peak hrs on my time zone its just too frustrating. Enjoy the sl time you have and that is a very cool photo
I’m really sad to hear this, I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog posts – I think you have amazing talent and a great sense of style. I hope you manage to get your bandwidth problems sorted out and soon!
Awww Im gonna miss reading your stuff here. I’ll make sure I hop to your personal blog! Do what you gotta do sweetie… and in alot of ways.. I totally feel your pain.

sorry to see you go. gl and have fun!
I’m so sad to see you go, but I totally understand. It sucks when SL starts to feel like a job. I’m adding your blog to my RSS and hope to see more of you there!
