What’s In Your Closet? JuJu’s Closet!

While mulling over my lack of employment last week, I saw Juwan Lane‘s notice on Fashcon (it seems I get all my fashion news from there now). Juju’s Closet is her baby and I am here to announce to the world how her baby has grown! There’s always something for everyone in Juju’s Closet. Whether you are punk, rock and roll or cutesy patotesie, you will definitely fine something to match with in her store.

So what makes her clothes great?

*more after the cut*
1. There are great accessories
2. The textures are great
3. The clothes are versatile
The three mantras I lived by with my fashion Second Lifeâ„¢ are clothes, great texturing and accessories (there’s hair too but this entry isn’t about hair…) . And you know what? Juju’s Closet has all three. When I first walked into her store after that fashcon entry, I was a bit skeptical. Of course I didn’t know what I was going to think of Juju’s Closet. And then I spotted the Cuff Jeans and I knew that I found the right store. It has whimsy detailing on the hem of the cuffs with bubbles that match the Bubbles Top exactly. They were made for each other.

Now for those cold spring nights. I wore the Bolero top. It’s a mix of a knitted sweater and a mini sweater. I love it since it’s such a cute sweater, it’s great for any outfit, so I added it to my pre-existing Bubbles top. I am wearing the beige Bolero without the scupltie sleeves.

I am loving this outfit. It’s grungy, cool and absolutely not my usual style. Normally I wouldn’t pick this out in a store, but when I wore it, I changed my mind. The tank is creative with the bills of money sticking out of your chest (yes, that’s a woman’s natural hiding spot) and the charming price tag in the back of tag, it’s great! No wonder it is called the Shoplifter Outfit. Beyond the tank, there’s the pair of jeans. It’s absolutely detailed. I can’t say I am surprised, after the Cuff Jeans, the details of the Shoplifter Outfit’s jeans is impeccable. The Juju’s Closet tag is great. I could never wear it and mistaken it for anyone else’s pair of jeans. It’s too unique.

I can’t say I regret ever noticing that Fashcon notice. I think next time, I need to pay attention more instead of pressing the okay button that closes it. See what you discover when you read your fashcon notice?

I like the colorful tops with the back pocket to match. Reminds me of the Coogi brand =).

  2. O_o I just took a good look at that first image again. Holy crap. Portia, you MINX!

  3. Lollerskate says:

Covered in texture seams, and they look like a bunch of recolored freebies.

    I’ll be shopping Armidi, thanks.

  4. Iris Ophelia says:

Take a look at your real life wardrobe, lollerskate. Most clothes have side seams.

Just because something has some seam issues doesn’t necessarily make in inferior to something that doesn’t. Original design is worth much more than flawless texture seams, in my eyes.

  5. Lollerskate, I think that you are a bit unfair by judging the clothes by pictures. I have to admit that I did my best to make sure I respresent them in the best possible of ways. I cannot represent EVERY single detail.

And as for the seams, when I looked at the clothes at every angle (and I did since I took the pictures), I have to say that they were well made. It’s a small store, not every single detail might have been looked at, but overall, it is a great piece of clothing.

Iris is right, you need to take a good look at your wardrobe. Not everything is made great, but yet you still bought it didn’t you? And why? Because it’s original. And that’s what Juju’s Closet want, an overall shopping experience where you just don’t have a store full of sweaters or a store full of hair.

I’ve talked to Juwan Lane, she said what she is aiming for is really someone’s closet. Different knickknacks that make up a wardrobe, and maybe just because of this, some of the seams might not be to your liking. If so, please do continue to shop at Armidi.

What I present here in SCD is originality, beauty and style. I value originality above all else. Armidi is great to mix and match with other designers’ clothing but by itself, it’s like GAP or Old Navy, it can get monotonous.
