Touch to edit… or break?

Plastik has some sexy new Half-toned capris out, a short denim jacket from AOHARU in pink, matching it with the uber cute tank that was a bonus from the fat pack of tanks Callie released was a MUST..and a sassy new hair style.. I was set..tossing on the hot slide on heels from PixelMode – a marrying of different creators pieces.

Digging through the heaps of boxes needing to be unpacked – the folder of “To Sort” being gone through, labeled and filed away, some tried on (to remember what it was) Lead me to pulling together this look – and noticing something that seems to be very popular – yet still not fully known are the effects that these lil scripted items entail.

Seems the use of scripts for hair, shoes, jewelry, clothing is growing more common – more and more to the point that.. every piece of jewelry I am wearing in these photos – are scripted, except the C-aluinn bracelet on my left wrist.  The rest are all with resize, retexture, recolor – it’s all loaded.

Scripting of prims is especially for a ton of them is not an easy task, but a nice “perk” for creators to offer – one that I have a love/hate relationship with.  I love the variety it lends, but it limits the self-modifying ability.

To move a link of a necklace up on the collarbone, NOT the whole necklace, edit the “old fashioned way.”   I found the “This Prim” or “All Prims” and gave it a go!  Worried as the piece was NOT copyable – I carefully zoomed in, and attempted to adjust the offending prims – I had stopped breathing – but with a steady hand, I moved, and successfully afjusted 22 prims and while it was easy to hit the adjoining prim.. I was done..and it fit right.

On  to the earrings by Exodi.. touch and select the metal.. gunmetal worked well!!!  Ryker did her own scripting – it’s easy! Effortless – and the metals are all in attractive textures – so a surefire win for me.

CCD – Caithlin Carter Designs has came up with way to offer the best of both worlds – the normal and “pure” – Pure being the scripted set – so you can select the type of set you wish to buy – and I really like this idea – so rest assured I will be going back.. and the delicate butterfly bracelet in pink is a favorite of mine.

JD Hansen – from JCNY  is a master, her designs are killer.. like this necklace – but seriously the scripts are too over the top – I love her designs – just the options are enough to truly make my head spin – the emitter poof when you put something on – like the ring – is just annoying – and it’s too MUCH for me – if i could remove the scripts – and wear it – I would be so be wearing more of her stuff – sadly – it’s not possible.

Scripts – when used within reason – I find to be helpful – there are some that have the “delete script” option is used – which I like – and I do understand with texture/recolors – it’s not possible – so is there a middle ground – a scripting workaround – would be nice to have one that is.

Another week in my closet – hope your weekend is super!

MWAHS!

*** This posting is late due to a bogus DMCA being filed on the original skin I was wearing – therefore requiring me to reshoot every single photo – the skin I was wearing WILL be shown – but sadly, LL has the “guilty til proven innocent” theory – fighting the process will take time – but the designer is still working, and awaiting information on the counterclaim.   SCD will be covering developments on this story at a later date.

All the bogus claims made lately are REALLY starting to tick me off.

Anyway, your outfit is cute and I am digging seeing the pink-tastic on SCD :D

  2. Raven Haalan says:

Holy cow. Jori, the fashion rocks, but the pic work is just outstanding. the license plate, the guitars, the bows… and great tip on editing the necklace!

  3. JoriWatler says:

Bogus claims? It’s fact – the more script load you, as an avatar has pulls on sim resources – same for prims –

And thank you – I think SCD needs to be showered in pink :)

  4. JoriWatler says:

Thanks a heapton Raven.. I loved this outfit – and I appreciate your comments :)

    Mucho luff.. J

gorgeous outfit Jori, just excellent. That last compilation in particular just makes me Wow. The bow on top.. *sighs* Nice.

My 13 yr old daughter just came over and sat on my lap to see this pics.. “OMG, half tone jeans… awesome outfit!!.. That is the kind of fashions all the stars are wearing!” so it gets the 13 yr old mega fashionista stamp of approval as well. -Which is huge.

  6. JoriWatler says:

Isle <3 you are just too much.. the outfit was allot of fun to pull together – and with little to NO effort – funny how things play on the other..

As for the collage – thought it might be a cute addition to add a bit of flair to my posts here – and some ..*coughs* pink.

Let Lil Miss know . I LOVE the pantsssssssss!! And thank her for me!!

    killer jacket

No comment on the photos this week, SouthPark? Glad you liked the jacket.

Thanks for pointing out about editing scripted jewellery using the “This Prim” option Jori – it’s very useful and I know my CSR, Lorrie Jefferson, does it all the time (and is the biz at helping customers do the same).

One thing I must say, as a designer, is BACK-UP your jewellery BEFORE you start… please *begs*. It’s really easy to mess things up unintentionally, so working on a copy means you can just delete any failures and start again. Or just pretend it didn’t happen ;-)

Oh, and use a pose stand. Seriously. I see so many people just stood in the middle of nowhere editing stuff, their AO flailing their avatar around like a fish on the end of a hook. You’ve got no chance of getting it right like that. Hell *I’d* have no chance getting it right like that and it’s what I do! Most scripts include the option to “pose avatar” so use that if you can’t rez a pose stand.

Lurve the pink jacket btw. *goes shopping*

  10. JoriWatler says:

Skinkie – you make your items copy – the JCNY piece I was referring to – actually NONE of JD’s that I own are copy – so it’s a chance on correcting the fit – and getting ahold of any of her service reps – is near impossible –

I have in the past adjusted your pieces, with great ease – you’re one of the few I have found with a easy to use system – and YES – always make a copy and use a pose stand!!

Thanks for the comments – and look for more glittery review stuff coming soon!!

  11. caLLie cLine says:

my glitter tank was a gift with purchase, i will have it for sale next week… and yes i love 1/2 washes, i had NO clue they were available in RL when i did mine a few months ago, glad that ana lutetia made me put them out when she saw them, :) reminds me i have about oh… 15 more pairs to put out!

    FIX SL PLEASE!

  12. Sileny says:

I meant bogus claims in reference to the false DMCA field on the skins you were going to wear, LOL!
