I love cute and weird little avatars, things that defy normality, even in the eyes of SL. My choice to todays antics was the lowly Patapon, though nto a force to be ignored, the avatar is cute and yet oh so sinister.
The Basic Patapon avatar costs 150L, and addon packs are just 50L each, outfits are 100L. I have the spear, the sword and the shield, and an extra hat for this avatar that I made myself, just because I can! The whole avater can be modified, so you can recolour it to be bright pink, or have the texture of a lizard, if thats your particular flavour of biscuit. The spear, when in mouselook – fires spears which disappear after a small period of time, it’s fun to charge upon unsuspecting victims, not that there are any, as you walk with this avatar, you are blessed with a cute melody of drums and little voices singing.

“The Patapon were a flourishing people until they were defeated by the Zigoton Empire. The player takes the role of their god and uses sacred war drums to direct the Patapon tribe to take back their land. As the story progresses, the Patapon also embark on a journey to Earthend to look upon “IT,” a sacred object whose appearance and purpose is unknown to the tribe. The enemy of the Patapon tribe is the evil Zigoton Empire, a powerful tribe of slightly squarish creatures with red-and-black eyes (as opposed to the white-and-black-eyed Patapon) that have oppressed the Patapon since their fall from power. After fighting various battles against the Zigotons, guardian creatures such as dragons, giant worms, golems, and the ultimate evil known as Gorl, the Patapon come to the coast, and see the rising sun, which they assume to be “IT”. However, unfulfilled by the anticlimactic end of their journey, they come to the conclusion that “IT” is, in fact, not the sun and to realize their destiny, they must cross the ocean to the real Earthend and continue their quest.”

Patapon is a game for the sSony PSP. It’s actually rhythm game where you give orders to your little patapons via a sort of drumming.

I have a collection of weird avatars too, because I know that SL’s not just about the sexy fashion, it’s about being whatever you damn well wanna be. The tragic thing is the reactions you get for doing so. It’s not always ‘wow, thats cute!’

The vivid art direction happens to the fore, as Kratos makes his way across the picturesque mountainsides to the city of Olympia, bludgeoning and battering the Army of Olympus creatures like undead soldiers, Centaurs, Harpies & Cyclops. A lot of thought has gone in each move. The attention to detail is usually judged by the fact that each teeth of Kratos were separately modelled.
