Armidi : Building Anew?

So what’s up with this? Armidi has two new sims coming up, not connected to the main sim, and no one’s talking about it?

Pardon my french, but WTF? What’s with the quiet on this topic? Anyone got a clue?

(FYI, I went and got married IRL on 10/24/08, and I’m looking to revive myself back into SL!)

***update*** Whoops, due to the amazing fluke, I fixed the post author!

    Who fucking cares?

  2. TallyHo says:

Haven’t a clue but Congratz on getting married!!! =)

  3. Maybe they are expanding?

  4. kesseret says:

Congrats on getting married!!!! I don’t shop at Armidi anymore really so aside from idle nosiness and gossip watch it doesn’t effect me.

That’s great though, that their business is growing that much! Congrats to them.

  5. Beo says:

Armidi is craving the World Domination, thank you for keep us informed about those major fact.
I also heard London Armidi just farted, wonder what other huge impact this gonna have regarding the fashion victims in SL.

  6. Armidillo says:

The Beauty sim has been there for a long time, it used to be connected to the right of the current Armidi sim. I noticed the other day that it had been separated and another sim added. It’d be nice if they would make new items considering they haven’t made any hair for waaaay too long. Nor have they came out with their supposedly uber wonderful amazing skins we were promised long ago. I guess they have better things to do, such as running their many other stores on their alts.

  7. blahblahblahwhatever says:

Armidi isnt special anymore. Everyone caught up already. And those 2 sims have been there for several months now. Next?

  8. tivo says:

    Mazel tov!

  9. Kristi says:

Yeah, I keep hearing that they’re coming out with a whole new skin and beauty line, and it’s coming soon, but that’s relative..soon to them could be next year sometime. We’ll just have to wait and see.

  10. ROFLMAO says:

Well, *I* haven’t heard about this, so I appreciate Tenshi saying something. It’s particularly odd to reflect upon with all the OpenSpace issues flying around, though I have no idea how it could be logically connected without getting into insane conspiracy theories. I’m more confused as to why they would separate the sims that way- to reduce cross-sim lag, multi-sim owners usually plot things like a checkerboard. Armidi clearly didn’t do that here, as after moving one sim (from what I’ve read), they then adding a sim next to it. Now, if they are planning on moving the Armidi sim to join the others later, that will still cost them a fee. But it is Armidi, and large companies sometimes enjoy throwing money at things because they can.

On a side note for some other commentators to think about, if the SCD posts suck so much, why are you still reading them? Clearly, the past insults haven’t improved the writing to your liking, so maybe you should try constructive criticism instead? Here’s an example:

Tenshi, thanks for providing the image, but it’s severely squished in the blog entry. This obscures the image really bad so that I can’t really see the fine details; could you please provide a link next time?

As the saying goes, you catch more flies with sugar than vinegar. And I expect to be doused with vinegar now, since that’s all some people seem to buy.

Of course, for everyone else that this doesn’t apply to, how ’bout that Armidi? :P

  11. Chalice Carling says:

Congrats on your wedding :-) ))

For me, with so many wonderful designers in SL to choose from, Armidi will have to do something pretty special to tear me away from some of my fav’s. I appreciate Armidi but it’s not the be all or end all. Give me my smaller design houses any day.

  12. blahblahblahwhatever says:

Okay. so, i went to armidi. checking the creator name it seems to be the same 2 people pumping out their clothing line for them. Whew. Hope theyre getting paid good (doubt it!).

I like Creamshop and any small cute little japanese store. I will spend my money there. Its reminiscent of a cute ,quaint, family owned bed and breakfast. :)

  13. yay, congrats on the wedding Tenshi! May you both have many more happy years together :)

  14. Ana Boogers says:

Armidi? Armidi still exsists? Haven’t been there in over 6 months.

Guess they decided to fade just like Naughty did. But this time no one cares.

And Tenshi! How dare you get married and not invite me to be the flower girl!!!! >:O

(p.s. for those who can’t see the picture, right click and click “view image”)

  15. Marni says:

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    Congrats!

blah armidi, alright i might have gone there the other day, but i was silently protesting by not shopping.

  16. Old School says:

“Guess they decided to fade just like Naughty did.”

Naughty Designs didn’t fade so much as just create under the ‘new’ Abyss name, even though Lost and Amby never came out and said it. Just one day Abyss came outta nowhere but it didn’t take a rocket scientist to see it was the same creators of ND. For the past year or so it seems like these bigger named creators who have been around for so long just don’t care to create like they used to and just reap the sales of what they have had out forever. Frankly I’m tired of seeing those old ND skins all over the grid, they need to be removed in my opinion.

I remember back in the day there were constant updates from places like Naughty, ETD, Mischief, Nyte n Day, etc. I guess we oldbies got spoiled by this and we expected it to always be that way. I understand that copybotting has put a damper on some creators not even wanting to bother making things, but to be quite honest, that excuse is getting old. There are people who steal irl all the time, knockoffs, etc. yet you don’t see Louis Vuitton going out of business. There will always be thieves in both worlds but people will still buy quality in SL direct from the creator.

    I miss the old days…

  17. blahblahblahwhatever says:

    That excuse isnt getting old.

The content creators here live under a government who does not do shit to protect them. The thieves can delete the offending account, make a new one, and pass out the stolen goods under alts. Its really getting bad!!

  18. Mmmk says:

I know that theft is more prevalent since LL decided it would be a nifty idea to have free unverified accts, but if it were all that bad then wouldn’t these creators who have been stolen from just close their stores and leave SL? I know of many who have been copybotted or whatever yet they still own their sims and sell their items, and quite well. What bothers me is the creators who still have their stores and are raking in the dough, such as ND, yet you can’t get any type of help with a problem.

I believe if you want to still make money off of people, especially when rl $ is involved, then you should still take care of your customers. You don’t see rl stores that keep their doors open for customers yet have no employess that can help them.

  19. blahblahblahwhatever says:

I see what youre saying, and I agree with you. They should put up signs warning ppl no one is at the steering wheel of that shop anymore. I know id be pissed if i spent money and never got an item, or had an issue!

  20. Ben Vanguard says:

Congrats Tenshi! I wish you the best :-) )

  21. admin says:

    Thanks guys :)

  22. ROFLMAO says:

ETD is finally releasing new items (and having a sale, to boot) after quite a few months. And yes, the citation was a lack of drive based on content theft and LL doing nothing about it.

I have mixed emotions- in some ways, I agree that you shouldn’t let others pull you down, allowing the thieves and other asshats to win. On the other hand, I can empathize with feeling drained of creativity after someone takes your creation and proclaims it as their’s. Big or small, there are creators that still see themselves more as artists than business owners (at least emotionally), and having something that can be viewed like a child (yes, even a little prim, hairy baby) ripped from your hands can really jar a person.

For me, at least, it’s ultimately going to come down to who’s been acting to my own maturity standards. Armidi turned me off with their April Fool’s blog blunder, while I’ve received great service at ETD, even while Elika was out. This might be the same or reversed for other people, and that’s to be expected.

  23. Thema Felix says:

wow congratulations, Ten :) Be merry!

  24. Ruby Sinclair says:

I believe that Armidi is one of the best stores, they have evolved crazily, only to produce clothing that’s flawless. Now you might see these clothes ALOT, but to incorporate them in your own ideas and outfits is always a great way to refresh them. Hell I turned one of their short little baby dolls into my wedding dress, and it was lovely.

I have an outfit from Elephant Outfitters dated January 10th, 2007, from thier earlier noobish releases. The difference in work now is outstanding and amazing. If anyone remembers when they released their first hair, the Bombshell, at hairfair ’07, it took them some time to open their doors at the Armidi sim. I’m curious as to what they will be dropping next, and I’m sure they won’t disappoint. Just give them time, you can’t rush art.

Btw, comparing them to ND is crap. ND doesn’t even answer IM’s or notecards. I’ve never had a problem with Armidi’s customer service whatsoever.

Congrats & good luck on your marriage!

    ~Peace :)

  25. blahblahblahwhatever says:

Um probably because the 2 people they have pumping out clothing for armidi make way better clothing then the girl who makes the clothing at elephant outfitters? derr!!

  26. Ruby Sinclair says:

Oh. I’m sorry, Nicole David who makes clothes for Armidi, must not be the same Nicole David that makes clothes for Elephant Outfitters. Or Juju Armidi, wow, she creates for Armidi and EO! Oh don’t forget about Hudsen Armidi, pretty sure she creates for EO and Armidi.

    My bad, lol!

  27. blahblahblahwhatever says:

My point was that hudsen and juju pwn nicole david and should not be working for armidi. they should ditch and start their own thing and make the money they deserve.

    later bby

  28. December says:

Well, I know at least one of those Armidi’s (Hudsen) DOES have her own thing, and I know I’m not the only person that shops there! As a matter of fact, I just read some comments from Ms. Hudsen’s “alt” (said in quotations because I think it was actually her original account) on someone’s Flickr.

And, of course, if Hudsen has an alt making other great stuff in a COMPLETELY different style, who’s to say that all the other Armidis aren’t doing the same?

I personally am a fan of Armidi. I know I can always count on consistency and find great basic pieces to add to outfits. Of course, there are those “Armidi Clones” who wear nothing but Armidi from head to toe, and I don’t really see the sense or originality in that. Everything in moderation.

No idea what the new sim business is about…maybe they are just moving? Who knows.

    Congrats on the wedding! :D

  29. blahblahblahwhatever says:

Are you aware that all the ppl who jumped on the armidi bandwagon signed a contract that disallowed them from releasing things under their own individual brand names? lol

    <33

  30. December says:

Well, honey, maybe it got changed, because Miss Emma Gilmour runs Sand Shack Surf Co, and according to her inworld profile, is also Hudsen Armidi.

    kthxbai.

  31. December says:

And here is proof, just so there’s no argument.
This is copied straight from Emma Gilmour’s inworld profile:

*Surf Co. Owner* – check my picks for LM to main store

:note: Please do not contact me on Emma with Armidi questions/requests, I will be logging into Hudsen on a daily basis and will get back to you ASAP :)

  32. blahblahblahwhatever says:

    im laughing so hard.

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL teehee

Uh.. I never said emma didnt have her surf co shop anymore.

what i saaaaaaaid was upon signing a contract with armidi, they are no longer allowed to release under their personal brands.

She would be a fool to shut down surf co. its a cute brand. its still opened.

/me walks away laughing haha too funny

  33. December says:

I’m laughing so hard because you know so much, yet don’t even post under your own name.

    Nice one.

And actually there was a release in EMMA’s store just a couple months back.

  34. December says:

July was the lasted release at SCO, and if I’m correct, I bought things from Hudsen before then.

  35. December says:

Correction on last post: *latest, not lasted

  36. December says:

I bought the Hoja Top in white on Sunday, June 15th, which was a month and something like 10 days before the last releast at SCO, and the shirt is made by, guess who?

    Hudsen Armidi.

  37. blahblahblahwhatever says:

Yep i do know alot about this. glad you could see that :)

Armidi allowed them to do a “special” release under their own brand names a few months back.

You really do not know the basis from which you are talking. I, however, do.

  38. December says:

    Okay, smartiepants.

I’ll let you have your internet soap box, and be king and/or queen of SL Fashion

    All Hail BlahBlah Whatever!

  39. blahblahblahwhatever says:

Hey december, guess where I have to go?

  40. blahblahblahwhatever says:

Nope it has nothing to do with trying to be queen or king of sl fashion. I dont give a shit about SL fashion.

I come here because, ironically, its relaxing and hilarious. This blog, that is. I am not here for the “fashion”. im here to laugh at all the drama and idiocy that goes on and i find it funny that i add to it without even trying. Its fun for me, i dont take it seriously.

But in this one instance, i do know what im talking about.

  41. December says:

Just earlier you were saying that Armidi “isn’t special anymore” and “who fucking cares?” so why are you even still here? And if you didn’t care in the first place – and if you don’t care about SL fashion at all in the first place, why make a comment at all? Even one that says “who fucking cares?”

I personally don’t have the belief that “Armidi isn’t special anymore” because they continue to be a beacon of great quality, with reliable style.

SL Fashion is fun for me – it’s why I do what I do in SL. But I don’t go around to blogs commenting “who fucking cares” just because I, personally, don’t care about something.

If you didn’t care you wouldn’t be here blabbing on and on about whether Armidi does or does not suck.

  42. blahblahblahwhatever says:

    Youre misreading me…

My comment on Armidi isnt special was directed at the fact everyone has caught up with them, I mentioned that in my initial post. when they came out they pwnd and were unique, since then, many designers have caught up quality wise. theres still tons of shit on the grid, but alot of people have caught up. I felt this post was just made out of boredom.

Depends how youre using the word care..Do i care for them and wish them well? I couldnt care less, they dont do anything for me. I dont shop there and i dont know anybody who does. everyone i know seems to be on the “boycott armidi” bandwagon. I guess it explains why none of them read these blogs.

What i do care about, is the comments youre making about the individual brands, cus those brands..i actually like!

  43. December says:

I made no contrary comments about any of the other brands associated with Armidi’s creators. If anything in SL, I’m a shopper, and I love a wide, wide assortment of styles and creators.

Even things that don’t speak to my individual style sometimes get a lot of respect (and in some cases, Lindens) from me, just because I can really respect a creator’s hard work, and their style.

But Armidi is a solid staple of my SL wardrobe and just because certain people in-world are on a hating-Armidi spree, it doesn’t mean we all are, and making a comment like “who fucking cares” makes no sense whatsoever.

  44. blahblahblahwhatever says:

I noticed you didnt guess where i had to go…

    Real life.

    lol! Have fun.

Ps- I do not expect my comments to have any credibility due to my anonymous posting.

This is probably the one post i was actually serious in. 99% of my other postings are sheer BS. remember that. But upon reflecting on that, I guess i really should not be posting here. So maybe this will be my last post unless you come up with something I can not help but reply to. =)

  45. ROFLMAO says:

Umm, tried reading the last slew of comments, and I’m confused: so, Armidid people sign a contact, saying that they will only release under the Armidi name, yet their are major Armidi alts with their own brands, still releasing products?

As a non-Armidi person, I know I’m missing the facts. And I really only care to be enlightened based on the matter if their staff is or is not abiding by their own terms.

  46. Dahlia Eilde says:

Initially, yes, the designers that were brought on board by the original Armidi creators were under agreement to release new designs exclusively for Armidi (brand inclusive: Intimizzio, Gisaci, and Elephant Outfitters)under their new Armidi surnames.

However, within the last few months they have been allowed to create Armidi pieces as referenced above, but also to release under their original names and brands. As far as I can tell it’s all kosher and no contracts were breached as they were given the green light from the Armidi owners.

Moving on to that screen shot… I believe it’s for Armidi’s long awaited Beauty release (as Kristi stated) and/or their Fall and Winter clothing line. Looks like it’s going to be a big one!

P.S. Congratulations, Tenshi. May you have a long and happy marriage.

  47. Cristalle Karami says:

lol @ the person who say they now shop at creamshop. One good look at creamshop and it just screams Lost Thereian / London Armidi / Khai Sinister.

Not that it matters, because they make great stuff, but you are still paying the same people!

  48. Idiot Monitor says:

    Cristalle, you’re an idiot.
Take your idiot stamp and move along. It’s a long line.

  49. Cristalle Karami says:

Whatever, cornhole. Look at the hair textures in particular, and the style of the display. Just the way the hair is marketed should ring a bell.

    It doesn’t matter.

    Viva Lost, you’re good, man!

  50. Jospeh says:

This website is fun. All these fashion girls gossiping and bitching about eachother and their idols, and taking it all so seriously. LOL

For men this is just pure entertainment!
