Hmm let me see. 2 month membership 350L. Example Zaara swimsuit fatpack 900L 50% off 450L. I saved 450L and I paid 350L for the membership. Hmmm… I think I just kept my pockets lined.
What you save > greater then what you spent. Same logic goes for wholesale club memberships.

I don’t get some of the comments, someone getting paid for the work they do is not lining their pockets. They are performing a task or providing a service and being recompensed for it.

And if you don’t think the designers involved are making more than membership costs them or people aren’t saving more than joining fee then you’re a fucking idiot.

after reading the organizer’s rules for this ridiculous idea I am amazed that no one is saying this is payola for blogging.

Designers pay $2500 per two months, and then have to offer some items at a steep discount? Their reward? They get blogged on some random blog.

I remember when encore Mayne got raked over the coals for this. Is this ok because the thinktank behind this is a nice person? They get money for doing what exactly? organizing it? a bit too much of a fee for not much work.

It’s the same thing as payola for blogging, and it’s a bit backwards.

I’m not going to spend money to get a discount. Sorry. Of course the first version is going to be ‘good’ because of the way it’s set up. Draw you in with good deals, and you’re sucked in.

This appears to be another excuse to line the pockets of two people who set it up and taking advantages of designers to do so.
