Iris here. I got tagged by Myllie (and Diva), so here goes:

1.) Though scholarly and theatre crap take up most of my reading time, I have a huge affinity for bad mystery novels. Carol O’Connell is a favorite because I love the way she writes modern noir with a female sociopathic detective.

2.) My friends and roomate and I have Bad TV Night every Thursday. We drink and watch bad, addictive TV shows on DVD. So far we’ve watched Alias, Gilmore Girls, Angel and Medium. Sadly, this is over the short period of about 15 months.

3.) I am known to greet every visiting friend with “What the hell are you doing in my house, bitch?”

4.) I have a boyfriend who looks and acts just like Wash from Firefly. As Wash was my least favorite character, you can see the irony in this.

5.) My current life-goal is to be a dramaturg in London within the next three years. Either that, or Wonder Woman.

6.) When I was a little girl, I was a total Mean Girl. My friends and I all participated in those awful little-kid beauty pageants. I once got to do one at Disney World and won a scholarship that actually pays for most of my school today.

7.) When I turned 20 this year, I got a tattoo of an abstract bird on my left wrist that my boyfriend promptly named Salman Rushdie. The next time I saw my mom afterwards I expected her to be upset, but she ooooh’d and ahhh’d and took a picture to use as the wallpaper on her cell phone.

8.) Throughout most of my life, I’ve been a runner. Two years ago I had my second knee surgery that involves metal plates. I can’t run anymore, but if I get them in just the right spot I can make magnets stick to the side of my knee. This is endlessly amusing to small children and most of my friends.
