a stranger asked me once why i have a child avie, i dont bother anyone, when im public i keep quiet, i dont approach strangers, they’re the ones who approach and talk to me. asking me questions and giving me uncalled for comments.

adult avie: SL has enough headcases. We would be better off without you.

If “what we think you will” is some kind of a heinous crime, then I see their point. If it’s getting back together with a guy who has been a total ass in the past, c’mon, we’ve all been there.

If it’s simply disappearing from the grid and taking an extended break from SL for a while, then . . . get real? We all need to touch base with our real lives occasionally.

I don’t care for child avatars, but I don’t mind them as long as they don’t act like spoiled little brats…I hate those irl and I hate those in sl….and I am sorry, but when I am not on a pg sim, I am not gonna be careful about what I say or do just because a child avatar is there…if you’re pretending to be a kid and don’t wanna hear bad words then stay on pg sims…don’t be surprised that you’re not treated as a kid when you walk into a strip club lol

I thought about having an SL baby once, then decided better of it based on the fact that I would be left with stretch marks and no amount of PS enhancement would get rid of them.

Now Ive always wondered but never asked , are these miracle babies that pop out after a week or is this the full 9 month duration ?

I dont really get the whole rp thing in any context , but each to their own as long as it doesnt encrouch on my happiness.

@ 3 If you enjoy doing it , then carry on. Who cares what people think. I have a shop full of stuff that doesnt sell from one week to the next , but Im happy when I hear the tills and some nice person has purchased something. x

@5 Drama is such an overused word in SL. The word drama should be banned full stop. Drama I can live with as long as it doesnt involve me.

and also, what i do when i get burnt out on working on ANYTHING is log off for a few days..cuz them i’m chomping at the bit to get to work when i come back online.

There was a woman with a tummy talker there, an it kept talking about how the baby was hungry and that she should eat. My friend, the co-writer, playfully mentioned that the ‘pregnant’ ‘mommy’ should have a slice of cake. Harmless enough right? Oh no.

In IM this woman’s ‘partner’ (who was also a woman, which leads to the question of how she even got knocked up in the first place) starts berating and screaming at my co-writer for even INSINUATING that the woman might need or want a piece of cake and was severely offended by the whole situation. It was hilarious, and sad. And bitches like that? Ya’ll can fuck off.

I don’t do the 12 hours in 1 go obviously… as I do have rl to deal with but I am guilty of spending from 6pm-3am almost solidly

London gives some great advice there though. Stepping back sometimes is not only good for preventing burn-out -which CAN happen, I REALLY need to clean out all the half-finished junk in my invo :/, but you’ll see inspiration everywhere.

I was once at an OOC party at an RP sim I played at, and this one girl’s talking belly kept going on every 5 minutes about how her ‘back hurts from the weight of her bump but the baby will be born soon’ or…something of that ilk, and we looked at her, and she wasn’t wearing any kind of pregnant shape at all, so my husband asked her ‘what bump?’ and she said something like ‘i’m pregnant teeheehee!’. And so we looked at her again, and she was wearing this skintight leather catsuit-ish thing, and stiletto boots, and I pointed out that she didn’t /look/ very pregnant, and her reply was ‘Well I couldn’t really wear this with a pregnant shape, could I?’

At which point we gave up even trying to talk to her. If you’re gonna inflict your tummytalker on everyone, letting everyone know that you want to eat saltines and the baby can hear your heartbeat and so on, and hey, ONO, heartburn, at LEAST stick with the RP yourself enough to sacrifice your slutwear and leggy skank shape for a week or two. Those things CAN be turned to silent, you know. -_-

Thats your own opinion and its fine, but many different avies could be considered wrong and unnatural.

It is an adult environment, meaning for those adults behind the avie…PG sims were not made for kid avies, they were made long before the first kid avatar. That is a huge misconception. Just because they are in a kid shape, does not mean they are underage. It is just their choice of what they chose to be as any other avatar. Just remember, that there are probably avatars out there that find you creepy. Theres enough room for all of us

I’ve felt that way, certainly a lot of us have, but not enough to think it’s an SL secret. Yeah, these used to be interesting, but they’re getting kinda ….predictible and becomming simple troll bait.

@Ano, Shamrawk et al – I spend plenty of time designing, and have read this blog to break up the 12 or so hours a day I spend staring at photoshop. Sorry that I felt the need to participate for the first time since it’s conception. Yes I feel a little dissilusioned with my designs.

@Shamrawk – You say you wouldn’t wear my designs, does that mean u know who?

I wouldnt wear your stuff, but good for you for rawkin your own look. It takes guts to venture out into the unknown. I agree with Ano though, dont worry about what others think..But also….Take the time that you’re using making an SL secret and then replying to it to get better at your trade.

and @ the SL kids comments (since my last post)

If i had acted the way these kids are acting to total strangers my mom would have locked me in the closet. Not joking, my mom was hardcore like that.

I was 4 once..and then i grew up. And i dont think i ever spoke with a lisp and replaced u with a w even when i was little.

I have met a few SL kids who i later met the adults of. for them it worked to have a child avatar because they were designers and such and just needed an ALT to play on. They still acted like adults in their child avatar and didnt grief people. They didnt walk around talking like idiots..and they sure as hell didnt expect people to PG their speech for them, though.. my friend who wanted to “adopt” them…did..which annoyed me like crazy.

I think SL kids should not be allowed on mature sims…i’ve heard of some places that do have this policy..but it would make my SL alot more fun if it was a grid wide ENFORCED rule.

I have plenty of friends, and this person has PLENTY of enemies. As they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and I find myself making new ones every day.

And for the record, no, has nothing to do with you folks at SCD.

If you are really serious about becoming a good designer then instead of wasting your time looking at others and wondering what they think…use that time to learn more and become better or stop designing and find something else to do. Other then that know you can’t please everyone anyway so better stop trying.

On a sidenote, is it me or do the secrets become more and more boring? And if so, is that due to selection or people simply don’t make any nice and funky secrets anymore?

On another note…

I don’t see child avatars that often anymore. When they’re around I usually don’t talk to them. Anyone who uses “u” for you or puts a “w” in words that don’t require them usually gets a mental ignore. That means I don’t mute them but I usually forget they’re there.

Of course 4 yr old girls wear skimpy skirts (usually much more skimpy than the skirts 14 yr old girls wear). And of course they want to play with mom’s make-up. And even though they don’t have any boobs, they proudly wear bikini tops in public swimming pools… while at the same time their mom may forgo the top to avoid the tan lines
