  1. Ryker Beck says:

    #1. What?
#2. Congratulations – you just graduated from being in love to being a hoe. Go you.
    #3. $150,000L? That’s it? Sit down, junior.

  2. Ryker Beck says:

    ^ #4, not #3. *grabs more coffee*

  3. hmmm says:

@ #3 150,000L???I second Ryker, sit ‘cho ass down.

  4. hmmm says:

actually that was meant for #4.

  5. Whispers Magic says:

@1 its ok to be different!

@2 I’m sorry you feel like he isn’t into you…if that is the case perhaps it is time to move on. :) AND IMHO what you did does not make you a whore…just human and confused.

@3 I have several people that I could see needing that thrown at them! ;)

@4 good for you…the American dream at its best!

  6. Wheathering Mode says:

@2 – Invest in the book “He’s just not that into you”
@4 – I’m more concerned about your drawing more then anything, I at first thought it was one person, not a person on a mountain. I was like wtf is hanging out of its lower half? I really hope you were trying to draw a skirt, because if not.. that chick has some serious bush. But, I see it now, and I think just based on your “typing” alone, it’s obvious you’re not too creditable as a designer also. That’s NOT true. Your reputation outside of SL DOES effect your in world business. If you took the time to read about some scandals with designers, people have out right protested and agreed never to shop at a particular place again because of the designers actions. You could have the best stuff in the world, but if no one wants to support you because of your shitty actions – then you still fail. And as Ryker pointed out, if you were as “great” as you said you are, you would be making a lot more then that.
How about you take that new iPad you just bought and trade it in for some Tampex-Pads instead? By the way your acting, I’d say they are more beneficial to you right now.

  7. 4). How much time did you spend earning that 150,000L? Did you even make minimum wage? Why don’t you spend this week’s earnings on a grammar app for your new ipad.

  8. Anon says:

Gawd, some of the people that post comments here are such a-holes.

  9. Music Loopen says:

I agree with Anon. Seriously, I don’t think #4 was rubbing it in to anyone..but if they make $150,000L and they feel that is a success, than good for them. Who are we to say that’s not enough? Despite the challenges they’ve faced, they have still made more money than 90% of the shop owners on SL do. And yet, you get a few up here right off the bat to tell them that’s not enough. They haven’t made it yet, Junior. Well good for you, Seniors.. glad you make a shitload of money on SL, how nice of you to rub it in people’s faces what a success you are. ^5, Asses.

  10. Turnip says:

#4 hm perhaps statements like this are what gave you haters in the first place? Making good quality items isn’t the only key to a successful SL business. If you’re not liked among your peers your store will inevitably suffer.

  11. hmmm says:

Yes Music, because #4′s big SUCK IT, is not rubbing it in anyone’s face.

    • tiashag says:

His message was to his haters, you know people like you. This message wasn’t directed to everybody. The man is just happy he prevailed above what the negative thinkers thought about him. I think he has every right to be happy about his 150,000L a month whether that puts him in the big league or not. smh

      • blahblahblahwhatever says:

He would not have haters if he did not steal and run around SL with no boundaries being an arrogant asshole, all while making a measly $558/month which essentially belongs to the people he has stolen from. HELLO! *Knocks on your head* Anyone in there?!

  12. moira says:

#1-Wellll – I think this means they think someone is an airhead or a drunk? Dunno. (confused)
#2 – I’m getting the vibe this is from a guy about another guy. Am I wrong here?
#3 – Yeah. Doing that daily these days.
#4 – Hey more power to you. In this economy if you can make a buck where ever is good. I’ll never understand why people (dare I call them that) can’t just be happy for someone else’s success no matter how big or small.
As far as “scandals?” effecting SL business – Minnu seems to be having no problems at all, nor does Truth (who was accused of stealing ETD hair), nor Frolic Mills who almost got his ass sued by Donald Trump for jacking the Miss Universe title, nor the up and coming blogger who brags she fucked the husband of a pregnant woman 9 times and knew he was married and had a pregnant wife at home. I could go on and on, but the fact remains. Nobody cares what people do as long as they keep getting to buy what everyone else is buying.

  13. music loopen says:

well, it clearly said..to those who tried to drag them down. Unless you were one of them, I wouldn’t think it was directed at you, Hmm. Just Sayin’. That’s how I interpreted it, at least. If I thought they were being smug about their success, I would be in agreement with you. I just don’t think that was the case.

    • Whispers Magic says:

I agree. Unless you were the ones guilty of trying to drag him down what’s your beef?

      • blahblahblahwhatever says:

If #4 is who I am assuming it is, a lot of people hate him. He has copybotted on several occasions and used the copybotted material to begin his own business which is an exact replica of a long-standing SL shop.

Sorry, that is nothing to be congratulated for, and is nothing for the SL community to support.

But you know what? SL is turning into a large pile of shit. if the “Cult sim” reference is referring to the sim I am assuming it is, it is a sim filled with people who steal, copy, copybot, and bully others on a continual basis.

If you are going to operate like that, go to the teen grid where you belong. Do not steal, start a business with the stolen material, shove yourself in everyones face, then make an SL secret bragging about the money you made via ripping off another SL content creator.

What a dummy. I really really hope you get sued for damages and outright theft.

      • Dove Swanson says:

Except that in the process of sharing their success they took potshots at other groups of people. ie: FLF designers.

It’s one thing to be happy about your success and share it with everyone (although an SCD secret makes you wonder at the tone from the start) but you can do that without bringing anyone else down in the process.

“Yay! I made 150k this month, I’m so excited and happy, in spite of all the people who told me it would never happen!”

        vs

“Suck it bitches! I made 150k this month because I’m awesome at awesome things and you aren’t, so try selling your crap for 50L instead!”

I dunno if it’s just me….but those two seem like very different things. :p

        • Whispers Magic says:

I didn’t see it as FLF but the grammar and spelling is bad so I could have misinterpreted his intention there and you could be right.

  14. blahblahblahwhatever says:

    #4 rofl @ 150k a MONTH

    FAIL!

Rewrite your “secret” when you make that amount a day.

    • blahblahblahwhatever says:

I did not read #4 in its entirety before I responded to it, as I was taken away by the ridiculousness of the first sentence.

First off, What is the “Cult sim”

and 50L friday? Are you a moron? Majority of the items being sold at 50L friday are very good quality that people would gladly pay full price for. You have completely missed the point of 50L friday if your views of it are items that people are selling because they can not get full price for.

Its funny what money does to people. You make an amount, that really is not that impressive at all, and then you get on a high horse and start spewing shit you have absolutely no clue about.

You must be new around here and I think I know who you are. Quit stealing from people, stfu, and learn how to construct sentences properly.

If you are who I think you are: Good job at posting your once-hidden proceeds, I hope you get your ass sued.

  15. Daria says:

#4 took 6 months in MS Paint I’m sure e_e

  16. A Snoodle says:

    I wish I knew which store #4 was…cos I’d never shop there.

  17. Dove Swanson says:

Those doodling skills look about like my own. lol.

  18. Baily says:

I think 150k in SL sales is a good effort actually. If you had one product which you sold for 5k, that would be one 5k sale per day. I can not see how that is a fail. Many creators and are lucky to make tier.

    Don’t scoff at 150k.

    • Stephanie Misfit says:

It’s a nice little bit of pocket money for a teenager, sure (and judging by the secret, I’d say this poster comes from that demographic). I’d say congrats, but the bitterness and resentment towards the 50L Friday participants is clearly the poster’s genuine motivation for sharing their “secret”.

  19. AJ says:

it is SALES not sells, if you have to announce your SALES totals to the world, something is wrong.

  20. Music Loopen says:

I didn’t even think of #4 as taking a shot at FLF. If that is the case, then that is definitely uncalled for.

I still find those who scoffed at the 150k.. just as obnoxious as the #4 post itself.

  21. Katey Coppola says:

joins in the loling at #4

  22. SRS BSNSS says:

when are the fun secrets coming back?

  23. Leave it says:

Yawn. You people bore me. Lol. You not gonna let him join in your reindeer games?

  24. Truth Sayer says:

#3 is that a picture of Marty sent to Woodbury U?

#4 The only doodle artist I know of in SL is Mark Kingdon aka M Linden. Figures. Trends? I get NYLON every month and I never see any of that cool stuff in SL. Ever. Oh and a friend gets GQ and gives that to me as well and I seriously doubt the guys in SL will ever be into high water pants with suits that are 5 sizes too small like is the current high fashion for males. Guess the fashion crowd in SL is out of touch. Anyway as someone else mentioned let us know when you make 150k a day in sl. With such artistic skillz as your stick figure you are sure to have mass appeal in region retard station.

  25. Ginny James says:

Correcting grammar and spelling is epic fail.

  26. $50L Friday says:

While I like $50L Friday as much as the next person, I really gotta agree if merchants feel frustrated because they can’t participate.

$50L Friday is a great way to find new stores, but I can see where the person is coming from, as it’s a bit of an ‘elitist’ group of people and you need to be ‘hand picked’ to be one of the stores to have the chance to be on the list. When I realized that, I stopped taking part in it, myself.

#4′s probably just a very young merchant who was blown off by this group, who told them they’d never amount to anything. $150K a month is fine. It’s respectable. 80-90% of merchants in SL don’t make that much in a year, let alone one month.

  27. Polero says:

Whatever else you may think of #4, they’re right about success coming from making quality items that people want to buy. The fashionista cliques are irrelevant, really – the vast majority of SLers don’t read the fash feeds, they don’t follow the blogs, they just look for stuff they want to buy, and buy it. Your name can be mud (or Minnu ;) ) amongst blog readers/plurkers/twitterers, and yet still people will come buy your stuff if they like it.

  28. Say The Secret Word says:

Gee I can’t imagine how a charmer like # 4 would have haters.

  29. Ewan Mureaux says:

I wonder how FLF can be considered elitist when it only exists because one person decided they wanted to do an event with stores they liked. So if that is elitist anyone who has preferences is a douchebag.

OMG you like the taste of coke better, that’s so elitist and unfair on pepsi bawwwwwwww.

Get a fucking grip and go have your own ideas and events and stop crying over someone having a fun project that turned into a success.

    • $50L Friday says:

It’s not so much ‘baaawwww’-ing as it’s participating in an event, hoping for new stores or new material, but there isn’t any because the person who started the group only lets their friends and their personal favorite stores/their friends stores/what they consider to be ‘popular’ or whichever.

I didn’t really take part in $50L Friday for the $50L items (most of which were for females anyway), but I did end up finding a couple stores that I actually really enjoyed, and purchased several hundred lindens worth of stuff from.

If someone’s going to start up an event system like that, especially one that becomes popular, you’d think you’d want to search for new products or stores to keep peoples’ interest, no? It’s boring seeing the same stuff over and over.

Since it’s just a select group of people all the time, over and over, that does make it a form of elitism, unfortunately.

      Dictionary.com, dude. *thumbsup*

      • Lysana says:

Y’know what? Elitism isn’t quite how you’re defining it. Since the FLF crowd hardly runs anything outside of itself, calling it elitism is a bit excessive (elitism tends to require the group to have control over more than pennies’ worth of product to apply, thank you, dictionary.com). Did you think that possibly the folks behind FLF are keeping it small so they don’t drive themselves nuts with it? I wouldn’t know, as I’m just a shopper, but that’s a possibility I don’t think you have entertained, nor have you given evidence that would contradict it.

        • $50L Friday says:

Buhhh? Where does it say that elitism needs to require a group to have control over more than pennies?

          “e·lit·ism or é·lit·ism

          1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
          2.
1.The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
          2. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.”

On their own level, they are an elitist group. There are a LOT of “elitist” groups in SL. By definition, they are “elitist”.

It’s definitely a possibility that they might want to keep themselves small so they don’t drive themselves nuts with it.

Buuuut, as a content creator myself (even though I don’t take part in group events and hunts… I don’t need to), and being in SL a lot longer than most people have been, I’ve seen this thing happen and go around all the time, and it disenchants me from wanting to explore shops in the event. If there’s an exceptional creator of content out there, that’s being turned away because they think it isn’t ‘good enough’ (and it happens: a lot)? Well, why not? :/ Maybe it’s something that I’d want to buy. Why not promote new content creators?

FLF even boasts about the “hand-picked” group of shops, and ‘not to bother’ if you’re a shop interested in taking part right in the profiles of the group/people who lead the group. It’s displacing, considering I won’t see anything other than what the group wants me to see, and I’ll never see anything outside the realm of their personal ‘tastes’, or themes.

When I read that I decided to quit FLF and stick with RFL to find new content. At least everyone can take part in that, and I’ll have a chance to find new, interesting stuff. ;P

      • blahblahblahwhatever says:

one thing to remember about FLF – there is no fee involved for shop owners to take part in it.

When they start charging a fee, then people can start whining about how it should be “opened for all”

    • LMFAO says:

WTF, FLF is definitely an elitist group. The “creator” of FLF doesn’t pick stores she likes, but rather they pick stores who have designers who kiss their ass. You can’t apply to FLF, so how is the owner supposed to find out about your store, if you IM them they will say they are not taking applications and will ignore you. So really unless your in this “elitist” group or have some what of a connection to the “creator” than your not getting into FLF. It’s not fair that these stores get great exposure because of their ass kissing. Yes they have NUMEROUS NICE PRODUCTS but so do many other stores that aren’t aswell known that deserve a shot at “fame”
