#5? Really? So the Hot For Zombies group, who has raised a ton of money for the Red Cross is gonna be slagged off in SL Secrets for what? NO one in this group has done anything to anyone other than try and raise money for a good cause. All the builders, content creators, djs, greeters and volunteers have worked their asses off. Once again, Putrid and Horrid donated the sim free of charge, worked day and nigh to set it all up all because they wanted to do some good in the world. I am really hoping this has nothing to do with the charity, but seeing the pic is named “HFZslayer” it obviously is. Tenshi, the other day you emailed me and said you LOVE the group and you wish you had time to help, and then you post something like this? What gives?
Gattina, I haven’t posted SL Secrets for over a month now and only just viewed it myself. I did not create that illustration, and would greatly appreciate it if you did not accuse me of doing such. What I told you via private email still holds.
I post the secrets and I honestly had no clue. Come to me privately and we can discuss what you want done.
I actually thought it was a take on in general how some SLers are willing to out and harass people’s real lives yet so unwilling to show theirs. It has happened to me so it wasn’t a stretch. People name secrets so many things I never pay attention to the name unless 2 secrets are named the same.
You should have just asked Tenshi to take it down. I bet she would have. And most of us would have been completely unaware that it was about your group. It never occurred to me until I read your comment. Now anyone who read the comments knows when I bet half to 3/4s of us would have let it fly right over our heads.
How you react to something can determine whether it gets blown up into “drama” or disappears into the void where it belongs.
We asked Gattina if she wanted it removed after all this and she refused.

Used to be some really good secrets posted every Sunday. Now it’s just turned into an ongoing snit fit between a couple of groups, acting like Mean Girls. These aren’t secrets, people, it’s just junior high.

I was told the secret was about HFZ due to the fact it is 1: A pic of a zombie, durr and 2: The tag reads HFZ slayer. Considering MY group is called HFZ, I think it is easy to see where I would make that assumption.
And Stein is not posting, she um, signs her name to stuff. She doesn’t have to hide who she is like not you.

So very true, some people who do charity work don’t do it from the heart, they do it for notoriety.
Outside of a very few people, nobody would have known that “secret” was aimed at Gattina or her group and fewer still would care. Really should have let it go instead of getting hysterical and making a fool out of herself and her friends with ultra-dramatic posts about how she doeasnt like drama. It’s always the same few who are so vocal about hating drama that find themselves immersed in it over and over again.
And while charity work is of course admirable, it’s even more so when you don’t gloat about it.
If it’s all about the charity maybe you should take a walk because this comment tantrum you’re having isn’t helping your cause.
Because your secret should have garnered more attention – You need to know you’re not alone. You’re not a freak. I’m sure there are people out there who have no idea what your feelings are like… but I don’t know of any off the top of my head. So many people feel the same way you do on a daily basis and for each, there is a personal reason to just keep on going. I’m so glad that you hold on to the love this other person is giving you. Keep holding on to it. It’s the most important thing in the world – to love and be loved.
Well that’s just plain old insecurity and if it’s true, well it’s rather sad. Why anyone would give a toss about the popularity of a pixeled avatar is beyond my comprehension.

SO….I just wanted to throw out there…that people involved aside, like or dislike, a charity is going on to help a lot of people who could care less about he said she said…and pretty much just care about getting some food, safe water and some shelter.

# Tenshi owns the domain of SCD, and yes all content posted on SCD is technically owned by her. But she does not write every word or submit every secret.
# I do not recall, at any point, Tenshi ever saying anything against the good work of HFZ or suggesting that this work is done by bad people.
# If memory serves, and I’m kinda observant, wasn’t it HFZ as a group who started bitching about how the AV fair took place at the same time as your event? And then things snowballed from there?
# Speaking of AV, Tenshi only founded it. It’s run by a council and has open, but selective, membership.

And, Just for the record, “censoring” secrets is just silly. You cant censor how people feel or what they think. As long as someone goes by the post guidelines, they should be able to be printed. I agree with a lot of what is said here, and as my mama always told me, don’t go barking back at street dogs. I never should have commented, but what we do with HFZ is very important to me and I’m sort of hypersensitive about the situation, the reality is, and this has NOTHING to do with SL, over 200,000 people are dead in Haiti and I’m just one girl trying to do my part, along with a lot of other amazing people who also care about helping others. When I was told to check SCD and read the secret as I stated before, I assumed the tag had to do with HFZ. I should have just ignored it.
Kessecret did IM me and asked me if I wanted it removed, and after speaking to her I thought “Well, maybe it is not about HFZ so I don’t care.”
No one in HFZ planned on doing our event when the AV thing was running, the HFZ event was planned on short notice because I have been away from SL and my schedule allowed me back for the dates our event is going on. There is NO competition between an “original’s showcase” and the charity event, that is just silly and I am not sure what it has to do with anything. And I still go with what Tenshi told me herself, she believes in what HFZ does and she supports us. There is no venom towards Tenshi, if anything I was reacting to all the people posting comments which, as I said above, I should not have done. So for that I am sorry, I should have just ignored it.
Baily, I have NO idea who you are, and I could care less about the spotlight being on me. If people know about the event because of me, great, but if anything it’s Putrid and Horrid who deserve the kudos, and all the shops who graciously donated items. All I do is help a bit and send the money. Instead of spewing vitriol at me I urge you to volunteer at zombiefest or at another SL event raising money for the cause, we are always looking for volunteers to help. As Tyr eloquently stated above, this is not about how you like or who you dislike, it is about doing what you can as a person to help others. At the end of the day, that is all that matters.

I understand your passion, but perhaps you need to learn when to be quiet. Go about your charity work without making a big deal about it, if you care that much, just do it the kudos should be irrelevant.
