@3 Meh just don’t read it. I don’t mind learning about new people. People are interesting.
@4 roflmao
@5 especially when its been almost a year and they don’t even realize it *cough*
@7 totally agree
@8 I know for me what happens is I post and it sometimes takes 8 hours for it to hit the feed so we have no idea that someone else has posted it because it has taken 8 hours for theirs too. *shrugs*
@9 Aww I’m shy too! Buy Ozimals bunnehs! They make great company and the support group is really talkative and perhaps you will meet someone there!
@10 I totally agree!!!!
I can’t speak for other feed owners but most of them use the same software I use and blog feeds are scraped every hour so posts should show up within an hour of posting. I guess it depends on what feed you read but just letting you know 90 percent of the SL feeds do not take 8 hours to post unless there’s been a tech glitch.
lol@# 3..ouch.
@4-I have tried Plurk, its dumb.
@5-I do this alot. When you get annoyed, its easier to just uncheck them and not deal with their b.s. Who cares if you know they are hiding. Leave em alone.
#7 YOU ARE MY HEEEEEEEEEEEERO!!!!!!!
Forgot to address # 9. I’m like the exact opposite of you. I don’t give a shit if people like me. RL/SL, works for me.
Just be yourself and fuck em I say.
2. I can see what you’re saying. I like to see it too but I’d never wear it.
3. lol ok there are some blogs that annoy me more than others but I usually pass over them and continue with my day.
4. I have a hard enough keeping up with my RL facebook and twitter.
5. Just de-friend them and see if they notice.
6. hmmm Just can’t be bothered atm to figure that one out.
7. Noooo let us laugh.
8. I look at the feeds but only the pictures to see items I’ve never seen before and like. I only look at a few blogs that I know the bloggers do a lot of explore shopping.
9. You have to get out of your shell.
10. I think some SLers need to grow thicker skin. They want to be SL famous but without the scrutiny they would get in RL.
#3 – rofl!
#7 -
3. You know what’s awkward? Using the wrong “your” when you’re being catty.
5. I take people who hide from me off of my friends list. I rarely IM people in-world. Why would you need to hide from me?
9. A lot of us spend time alone in SL. At least you’ve found ways to occupy your time. Don’t let the loneliness bother you so much, and your designs will be noticed in time.
Don’t design things just to get friends though. You’ll likely end up with a bunch of friends who want your friendship… and freebies.
I noticed the your thing too, but the slam is so good, I am overlooking. K thnx. :p
1-It’s called therapy and meds..I suggest you look into both stat.
2-Amen to that! If I see something I like I buy it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought things from shops of people who are now considered the “fashion elite” when they were starting out, just to support them and encourage them. Now these same people have the nerve to ridicule someone else? Truly pitiful.
3-I kind of agree on this one, however, it’s her blog and maybe some people read it by going direct and not to the feeds and give a “rat’s ass” what she had for lunch! LOL!
4-Plurk has turned into just another forum to attack and fight. I facebook with family and friends now. Maybe we will get lucky and plurk will institute a “no cartoon clause” like facebook.
5-If you don’t want to talk to them anymore, just delete them for Christ’s sake, I do. Remember, they are strangers on a computer!
6-Not sure who this is, but they have gotten under someone’s skin! LOL! Fact: Almost all of SL “creators” steal from RL designs, so by claiming someone stole and idea and tweaked it, they could say the same about them. Unless they copybotted the stuff you need to stop riding the jealousy bus and don’t shop there.
7-Yes
8-When I look at the feeds I am struck by the lack of orginality in the posts. I mean people kissed designer ass before, but it has gotten to the point of mockery. The same names and items come up in every post that I’m starting to think they are paid (either in free shit or lindens) to do so. Sad.:-(
9-Do NOT seek to be popular in SL if there is such thing. If you like to build and create, do that and if you happen to met someone you like to spend time with, that’s great.
10-Blacklists?? Boycotts?? For having a differnce of opinion? What is this the 40s? LOL! People are too much! Bwhahaha!
LOL at the plurk one. I gave up on plurk last night not because of the behaviors of others but because of my own. I started to do what others have done to me in the past on plurk and I didn’t like it one bit.
#3 I don’t get why this bothers you so much, I really don’t. Just skip the damn post for christ’s sake. And same with number 8.
Why is there all of sudden blogger police out there, ha.
Seriously, if you don’t like what’s blogged, don’t look or make your own damn blog.
Dammit! I was about to blog what I had for lunch yesterday along with a list of things I have never done, shared my personal feelings on creative rights and well, for the hell of it I was going to share about my sex life.
Now I guess I will go and blog the stuff from the last Lelutka show. That wasn’t done yet, right?
3/ I should send it to a designer I met last week… He’s been looking at recruiting new staff for his poorly looking shop in the hopes to sell his poorly looking skins and men’s clothes… After a few days of saying he will hire people, he no longer responded to IM’s and never kept his word…
5/ Does not make me sad, makes me suspicious as to my SL “friends” really are…
6/ I’m not concerned, however, I’ve met designers who do behave like divas and kings because bloggers pay them some attention…
8/ Sorry most of us are members of the same groups, do hunts… Sometimes, I blog something and I find it on the feed a few hours later…
9/ True, I do spend most of my time alone because I’m in IM with friends who have different activities and I’m always looking for new things to blog… We just don’t have the need to be face to face to chat!
I love to tell people how many shits I take a day on Plurk – WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH THAT????
Creamy..personally I like to know you are regular. It gives me one less thing to worry about. Plurk on!
I’m still laughing at the fact someone called “Creamy” posted that hahahahahah
#9) Seeking to make friends just for the sake of having friends only works if you are dim and superficial. I would say to you the same thing as I would say to #5; why would you want to be friends with anyone who doesn’t want to be friends with you? Just keep doing what you love, and if you’re lucky you may meet other people who share your interests. Even if you don’t, you’ll have more fun following your own path than trying to make and maintain connections with people you don’t actually have anything in common with. And if your design works takes off, you won’t have time to talk to anyone anyway.
#10 reminds me of rl politics – “When the opposition doesn’t agree, shut them up!” I’m all for free speech and varying opinions. It’s one of those things that makes life rich. If you don’t like what others have to say, don’t try to shut them up, just shut your ears instead.
#8 I’ve got it. Maybe some independent entity can allocate items to be blogged to each blogger starting from ‘A’. Doesn’t matter that some ppl blog once a month or some twice a day, you wait yer term blogger so the feeds can be orchestrated not to double up.
There is just no way to monitor this given we all (the bloggers) have the creative freedom to feature what we want which is the way it should be. 99% of what I blog, I buy but it is just lovely when a designer takes the time to send me something and it is never, ever with the expectation that I have to blog the piece. Just enjoy the way different ppl interpret and display the same fashions when there happens to be a few of the same things on the feed or use your arrow and skip through it.
I for one appreciate the time it takes ppl to present their blogs and the quality just gets better and better. I’m a hack but really enjoy it so let me have my fun
GO TE@M IVEY!!!
1. Aweh.
Sounds like someone in a rl/sl long distance relationship. Chin up, it doesn’t have to be long distance forever. And I feel your pain.
2. Existing RL fashion? A t-shirt is a t-shirt, how many different ways can you do it? Even real life designers rehash fads over and over. How many times have bellbottoms come back now?
3. So because they blog it makes them less of a person? If you’d want to know when your BFF takes a dump on plurk/facebook/twitter why wouldn’t her BFF’s want to know the same? You don’t have to friend her. Maybe you should get over yourself if you think your attention is all that important.
4. LOL… Anyways, we may not look like ourselves but some of us are in fact just being ourselves in SL, plurk, or otherwise. It’s another avenue to meet people you wouldn’t otherwise meet. And it’s fun to keep up with strangers drama, just saying.
5. Ok, so I mean this in the nicest way possible. But if people are appearing offline in order to get away from you, you may want to rethink your approach. And I agree with other posters, just knock em off your list they obviously don’t wanna talk to you anyways.
6. Dunno who this is about, so I’m not gonna comment. But I am curious.
7. LOL … I bet I know who this was.
8. I can understand people blogging the same thing over and over, well because new things come out, everyone gets the info and who knows who is going to post what. But on the other hand, do we all need to follow the same designers releases?
9. Aweh, the last name is Dench. Look me up in world, I like new friends.
And I have lots of friends who like new friends too.
10. I agree one hundred percent. And it’s pretty obvious who this is about.
To the writer of the “alone” secret – I almost never contact a designer or an artist or a performer in SL because I figure they are much too busy and popular to be bothered with someone like me. I’m also very shy! I think I spend too much time waiting for people to talk to me instead of doing the talking. IM me sometime, since you know who I am. I’ll talk to you, I promise!
Is – isn’t this whole damn site catty and full of typos? Yep.
Sona, no I don’t use FB, Twitter, Plurk or the like as I could care less about the mundane facts of hundreds of SLers. I go to the FASHION FEEDS not individual blogs so I don’t have a choice to “not read it.” I thought perhaps such feeds that called themselves ‘fashion feed’ were supposed to be dedicated to FASHION. No?
4. LOL so damn true but goes the same for a lot of sites, blogs, feeds and what not. It’s not just Plurk.
9. That’s sad.
#8 – Though I can sympathize, if you want to tell other people what they should or shouldn’t blog you should probably just quit and start your own. Let people feature what they want. It is their blog. And #3 – If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Scroll past what you don’t want to see. It’s really not as hard as you’re making it. Personally, I like learning a little bit about the blogger. Maybe that’s just me.
#4 – Just makes me smile. I really don’t know what to do with that stuff. My life really isn’t so interesting and when I do have stuff going on I don’t have the time to put it up.
#9 – You’re not the only one who feels that way. I spend a lot of my time on SL alone, shopping/snapping pictures/whatever. I’m quite shy myself, so usually I blame it on my inability to just strike up a conversation with some random avatar. But at times I do wonder if I’ve got some virtual cooties that no one has been polite enough to point out for me. My advice to you is to not to think of it that way. There’s no way that you wouldn’t be “good enough” to be friends with someone and anyone who would tell you otherwise has problems. Just keep putting yourself out there and someone’s bound to bite. If that doesn’t work, look me up.
#9, when you are confident in your own unique opinions, perspective, talents, gifts and abilities people can not help but take notice.
Hope you find the belonging that you are looking for.
#9 – I am in your position now. I log in. I shop. I dress up my avie. I go to clubs. I THINK I am being soical. But I usually log out having had very little true contact with anyone. My friend’s list is quite empty.
But I used to be on the flip side. Wildly popular. Log in to so many IMs my brain would explode. So busy my eyes felt like they were bleeding. The world of SL “fame.” And let me promise you…I was just as lonely. They were friendships for all the wrong reasons.
Don’t dangle cookies for the fiends to use to feed off of you
You are worth more even if all you have is yourself in the SLuniverse.
#6 is about Urbanity … just go to her store. You will find stuff that looks just like Luck Inc., Skins that look like the new line by Brendon Papp, and her other skins look very much like Pink Fuel yet not clearly as good, down to her sim that is almost an exact replica of another sim which for the life of me I can’t recall the name of. Here is some proof that she has for all to view. What is even funnier about Urbanity or yet Trixi Wuyts is she has this Look Book that is a sort of catalog and she did it cuz she said people copybotted her store. Kinda funny, they copybot yur store to get designs that you stole from other hard working creators. Just plain sad and as they say karama is a bitch and she don’t pick sides. What goes around comes around.

@oxoSimplyxAmandaoxo
You really do get a kick out of drama dont you amanda, it is what fuels your very being.
If only the people on this site knew of your inworld activities.
People in glass houses etc
What a pile of shit! You are moaning about theft and copying and blah blah blah.. Yet you easily make accusations without proof over it all. You not only inform everybody of the store name of number 6, but of the store owner’s name also. Slander is as equally terrible as all the things you have accused her of. Get off your soap box.
#6: this is not a secret:

wow,the new generation of template designer, yeah , great stuff blogged over and over again, lol
guess its not a secret that several designers are using those templates
@ number 5. don’t take it personally. for example. I put everyone on invisible. I hate people knowing when I log in and out. I dread the “well YOU’RE up late” types of comments, or people who IM me as soon as I log in. I think, if someone wants to talk to me about something important, they will send it, no matter if I am on or not.
Being invisble cuts down on chatter. I also hate those pop ups telling you when someone ELSE logs in and out. If I’m in inventory it sends it back to the calling card. I hope all my friends put me on invisible too. If I am really someone’s friend, none of that means a thing. Just another way to look at it.
