  1. 3. Hmmm. Interesting. I can relate.

    - I wish there were more bitter, catty secrets today

  2. darn darwin says:

    need more cowbell

  3. KateyCoppola says:

    OMG NUMBER 6 IS TENSHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    But srsly, hi internet boner?

  4. Cajsa says:

#4 reminds me of me when I first started blogging. Anytime I read anything about the declining quality of the feed, I just knew that the veteran blogger had to be talking about me since I was the new kid on the block. Having blogged for over a year now, I still hear complaints about the declining quality of the feed. I think I almost said it myself before realizing that the feed is a "way we never were" sort of phenomenon.

What I mean is that when I first started reading the feed, it was exciting and new and the good stuff stayed with me and it was just WOW!! but now when I read the feed, it's been there, done that, seen the pictures 20 times. However, the change is not in the feed, it's in me. After a couple years of watching the feeds, there's inevitably some sort of "been there, seen that and burned the t-shirt" sort of ennui. The mistake is to think that it's the feed that has changed and not realize, we are the change.

    • Milla Michinaga says:

Such insight! (as always, Cajsa) :)

    • caLLiecLine says:

great attitude :) it is so much easier to criticize and bitch n moan, much harder to say what you did… ;) can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

and also, we have to keep in mind that the "feeds" aren't "hey look a bunch of totally diverse blogs that each have their own completely different style on many subject there for you shall never see a repeat or get bored" feeds. they are feed from a diverse group of people with different tastes, skill sets and styles with one thing in common… THEY LOVE FASHION! (or at least like it enough to take time to blog) some are hobbyists, some maybe do it for their only artistic endeavor, some maybe are professionals in writing or graphics, who knows?

the fun thing is, in SL there is room for us all, and it's pretty cool to think like my "aunt terri" who's a chiropractor, could come in SL, make a cute fashion blog, and have a fun outlet that she gets to really express herself in a way she never gets to in her day to day work.

would i wanna criticize that? heck no. :) sadly, i have found myself doing that with feeds, etc… i forget SL is a HUGE melting pot, not, (thankfully) a big commercialize world.

great thoughts cajsa, made me think too!

    • Tesa Jewell says:

Yep, I thought that too a few months back, the perspective changes as you grow and are more exposed.

    • Gidge says:

Yeah I think it's our own overexposure that makes us think that "it's all been done" when in fact, it's just that we read like 5 feeds every day lol.
That's why I try not to read them at all.

  5. gidge says:

I would like some marshmallows now.

  6. Trubblesl says:

1 :: Well done you! I'm so glad you managed to break a bad cycle.

2 :: Granted most can't tell the difference. But it takes a million times more patience to hand-draw the majority of work, than to photosource a full garment.

4 :: I'm glad this says some, because I've found a lot of the bloggers, veteran or not, to be very friendly and fair. and the same the other way…. even new bloggers can be horrid.

5:: hahaha agreed… sometimes the silliest spelling mistakes make me cringe.

6:: Harsh reality is, thats true for some people. The better connected they are, the more they're known… the more power they hold over others who are lesser known. Good news is… it's not impossible to get over barriers.

  7. ReneeH says:

    I love number 1,

2… I admire people who are so talented they can hand draw every element of a texture and make it beautiful. That doesn't mean something that's not hand drawn is automatically crap. Believe me, it all takes work and skill. I do a mixture usually and it takes a lot of time and a ton of trials to get the result I want.

  8. CyclicGearz says:

    1. Good for you! I love seeing people be happy, and have love, life and not be bogged down by toxic folks!

    2. I hear you there. A lot of people who rant about photo sourcing and texture making actually have little to no idea of how to make a texture, and go throwing around accusations regardless.

    3. Indeed, there should be no shitting at the buffet table.

    4. I wish that people would just quit whining about everything. Then again there'd be no SLSecret. IMO There's not such thing as 'veteran' bloggers. There's good bloggers and bad bloggers. Good bloggers get the hits, and the comments. Bad ones get left behind.

    5. I'm the same, though I am guilty of misspelling things in me fervour to get a sentence completed.

    6. Hahahahaha OK.
    3.

  9. Stella says:

    1. Well you go Girl!……Boy!?

    2. I can't read that and I have 20/20.

    3. I want some popcorn too.

    4. The nasty ones won't realize it's them.

    5. Basic misspellings don't bother me. It's the child ave speak that drives me bananas.

    6. Oh wow e-God is writing secrets now….

  10. Shayariel says:

    5. Ummm…it must be me you are talking about. My excuse: English is only my second language and yes the plural of leaf is leafs not leaves. *shame on me*

  11. SRS BSNSS says:

@6: my e-peen is bigger than yours. deal with it.

  12. #6. Seriously? ffs.

  13. Eboni Khan says:

@ 6 being "E-Famous" amongst 50 people is worth less than being popular in High School. FAIL.

  14. I like to eat alot of marshmallowes.

OK, I couldn't do that with a straight face.

Nice to know there are other members of the Speeling Polize besides me. :)

    P2

  15. Kris says:

@ #3 got extra popcorn….I am cant wait for the show also. So great seeing a true star perform!!

  16. Shimere Felisimo says:

Well, since #6 is anonymous, none of us know who s/he is. Hence, following the argument contained therein, s/he does not exist. Secret #6 vanishes in a poof of logic.

  17. blowpop says:

    6. Find a dictionary and look up the word perspective

  18. anondes says:

wait a sec… if someone doesn't exist… then how does removing them from your life make them even more invisible? I mean seriously, if you don't know or like someone, fine. but people's status isn't based on your opinion alone. In fact, most people I know hate snotty people like yourself. Oh wait, you're only e-famous. That's not like real famous so it's no cause for concern. I eliminate you from my thoughts.

  19. Darkley says:

Its a paradox, and nobody has thought about the effect on the space/time continuim *shakes head in despair*

  20. I'm proud of you, #1! It takes a lot to get out of an abusive, toxic relationship! I'm glad you found happiness. :)

  21. DracoNacht says:

I have the heart. It's called spell check, people! You can even load it into your browser to check your comments when you make them.

It's so easy even I can do it.

  22. Heidi Halberstadt says:

Why is # 6 just making me laugh? I'm trying really hard to be offended, I just can't seem to pull it off.

    /me wanders off, muttering "Twit"

  23. DramaLlamaOverload says:

Oh damn, six made me laugh, I know someone who thinks they are just that important, I laugh at them as well.

  24. WhiteKnght says:

Well? It seems that some people just have nothing better to do! You know? It is most common that people that cry and accuse others of wrong dong in a relationship or business venture , Especially in a public forum are only looking for attention and compensating for a lack of self esteem. If you MUST come on and whine about your failed love life or friendship or whatever? Could you at least end your comment with a suicide note? And then follow through with it? Spare us your drama!

  25. Vasha Martinek says:

I can't remember the name of the chick in my high school who had the same attitude as #6. Can't even remember her face. I do however remember mother Theresa, despite having never met her. I imagine whats-her-face thought she was pretty awesome too.

  26. Life From The Other Side says:

I left Second Life and couldnt be happier! YAY For number 1!

  27. Sneeze says:

#1 – Good for you! Excellent decisions.
    #2 – I want that top texture. =P
#3 – Hmmm, who can it be? Now this is a good SLecret.
#4 – Some people are legends in their own minds – see #6. Lol.
#5 – Bad spelling bugs the crap out of me, too. But I even see it on CNN.
#6 – Sad. Sad, sad, sad.
