I had to not post ones that showed SLers avatars. I usually am not a moderator type of person. So much data going around I do have a life and don’t have time to inspect every packet or pixel. Stop using people’s faces, PERIOD. I didn’t know who they are but if you have to resort to using an avatar’s actual picture you are doing it wrong.

Number 7 is such a rambling mess – it seems more like some sort of journal of some person trying to hold on to their sanity.
My brain died a little bit trying to understand that one (which it still doesn’t).
I don’t understand why this week comments about Gogo have been removed, but last week’s about Truth etc are still there…double standard much?

I feel acknowledging the “secret” actually gives the poster more satisfaction than the secret itself. I was blatantly secreted recently – they even went as far as to incorporate my role play name as part of the secret – but meh why be bothered by some moron who has probably never spoken two words to me.
Oh I think you have to request it to be removed unless its pretty clear who it’s directed towards, but I could be wrong there. And oh I didn’t connect the two removed were about Gogo – hmm but if they are then screw you mean people!!!! LOL
the ones removed were not about Gogo. Even if there was a secret about Gogo she’d never request it to be taken down b/c she doesn’t read SCD.
I didn’t think they were about Gogo either but I didn’t want to not say something when the possibility of them being about her was put on there. She’s one of my people as you know!

Two posts removed already? :-/ I really wish there was less fighting and bitching going on and more working together and having fun in SL. But it’s never gonna happen.

WTF – the IMs I’m getting about No. 12. Hell no, that secret isn’t about me, nor did I post it. No one even knows who the hell I am here.
I agree with the principle though – why waste precious energy ripping on a blog when you could just stop reading it . . . unless there’s an ugly part of you that needs to be fulfilled by being cruel?

If you are going to rip on someone who is doing a charity thing and you plan to donate directly then why not just do it? Is there a problem with just silently donating.
Regardless of who the secret would be about (because clearly there could be one about any charity event that goes on in SL) if you don’t want to do it inworld do it out of world and privately.
Then again SCD is based in the United States and even hate speech is protected so say what you want, but it makes you look ugly. It makes you look ugly even more if you do it anonymously.
I know people have good inside them. I’d love to see more secrets that are revealing, stark naked, bare, and emotionally raw. It makes for better reading than rehashing plurk/inworld drama every sunday.

Awesome secrets this week. Though I dunno why some get removed?
Anyway 6 and 11 stand out to me because it’s not just catty jabs (though some jabs can be fun amirite).
#6: If you really want to get them off your chest go for it, it’s okay, since you’d be anon. Cute piggy by the way. :3
#11: There is things you can do to take care of it, but that’s pretty crappy and typical these days, seems men don’t care about hpv since they aren’t the ones who get problems from it. Anyway take care of yourself. And pixelsmex to hearts content! <33
Some of the secrets would upset me but the truth is that the person they are aimed at…needs to explain himself to no one. He sleeps well at night knowing he does things for the very right reasons.
Yes…everyone counts…each one of us matter. If your notecard was not replied to I can assure you it was an oversight. I will be in SL tomorrow…please drop me your nc and we will fix this.

I’d say the real ugliness is coming from the people who can’t respect a girl’s simple wish to not disclose one item that she is wearing! I mean, really, what is so hard to understand about that?
Er.. Isn’t that what SL blogging is? Dislcosing what you are wearing?
For the record, this was not my secret.
I am with Melanie on this one. If someone doesn’t credit an item they are wearing in a blog post it’s plenty easy to ask them in a comment or inworld. Being polite is the key, though. You do catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar.
Blogging is a pretty open ended medium. I’m with Jerry Springer when he told his little Congressional hearing “If you don’t like what is on the TV then change the channel.” The Internet works the same way.
well, around 6+ people asked her on the blog where they were from in a single post. she made the comments visible, then ignored them. then when people asked why they were being ignored, she deleted all of the comments. they were all polite.
if you want to “keep something to yourself”, then don’t blog fashion… the whole point is to share what you’ve found on the grid.
eyes (poses, lashes, etc) aren’t always credited in sl fashion blogs but i’ve never seen someone so uptight about “revealing” the information when asked.
If you refuse to credit a creator on request, it’s going to look shady, like you don’t want to admit to wearing their stuff because they’re known for stealing, or you ripped the eyes yourself, or some other shit. And when you freak out because people even dared to bring up the subject… yeah, you just upped the shady quotient by about one million.
If copybot didn’t exist maybe people wouldn’t get so hung up about transparency. But it does. So they do.
@ #10…I know how you feel…I miss someone that way too.

Because the person is no longer in SL, and I doubt they would pop in to read SL Secrets or even SCD. If they do, so be it.
#1-I think the tent city a nod to New York Fashion Week, which is always held in Bryant Park in air-conditioned tents. I think the build is brilliant, btw.

as always i don’t get most. LMAO. I usually get only the super amazing obvious ones, like the truth one. I dont’get that at ALL, the guy paid for it, sponsors it, doesn’t make a DIME of it. whats wrong about that? At least he’s using his money/power for a good cause like this. So to diss that is plain jealousy/stupidness.
