I read a short blip about Amore Pacific on SL*Free*Style. My curiousity was piqued by the wash-your-hair camp chairs, so I tp’d over there last night and was pleased to find not just one sim – but a quad of them, in a flower shape. The sim itself is actually bi-level, with information about the company on the main ground and the fun interactive stuff on the second level.

Amore Pacific is a Korean cosmetics company that has been in the business of cosmetics since 1940. This particular sim was built by an SL development company named Acid Crebiz.

Beware, this sim will suck you in and you may find yourself spending at least an hour, maybe more, here. They have five-minute camping chairs that vend skins and hair, and later on if you wish you can spend a “Spa Ticket” and get a virtual massage. (eyeroll at that last one) You don’t just sit in the chairs – each skin camping area gives you a specific tool to use with it. For instance, each of the skin camping chairs give you a beauty tool to use, from a powder puff to a blush brush.

Please forgive the roughness of this photo, it was a Snapzilla screenshot.

Ana Boogiewoogie and Tenshi Vielle get their hair done.

Miko Omegamu in one of the free skins available.

Me in one of the free hairs and skins, upstairs above the skin area in a winter wonderland.

Some Japanese girls that came to visit. They stand out like flowers!

The power of advertising. There were displays of RL products and information alongside the free interactive Second Life items. Clever! (That’s a wall of free hair behind there!)

RL makeup on display!

You can even take some of it home!
I have to say Amore Pacific has done the best job out of any corporation I’ve seen that has come to SL – beauty or fashion wise. After Armani’s flop over the summer, Amore Pacific is an absolute breath of fresh air. It’s also rumoured that Amore Pacific has jewelry free, but you’ll have to go look for yourself – I had to limit my time there or I would have been online all night!
Teleport to Amore Pacific now, via SLURL!

What an EXCELLENT article full of both fun and info. Thanks so much! Will definitely go visit soon.
ohhhhh
marni grut runs for the TP
Great post Tenshi!
Yep, these people are marketing the clever way in SL. I haven’t had a chance to explore this sim fully yet, it’s sooo huge, the goods I have found so far have been quality, the build itself is fantastic. I like the way they advertise their products in an informative but not ‘in your face’ way. They have really thought everything through and done it with style. Other companies should take note.
Did you find the fitting room style place? More dresses, shoes, masks skins and jewellery there. Cheri tp’d me there but I have no idea how to find it again. I think that will be my job for tonight.
I went back this morning to explore for another hour and found that the spa is really kind of cool. They feature green tea in their ingredients, so they send you to collect tea for 1 minute in the fields. You then take the tea you harvested to the spa upstairs to mix up your tea and you get a really cute prim bathrobe and a spa certificate, which you wear to get massaged by campers for 10 minutes for another skin.
It’s a really cute and engaging idea! You get sent off on little errands in different parts of the sim and get rewarded, like a scavenger hunt. Plus the skins, while a little washed out, are good quality and the first skins I’ve found that actually make me look Asian.
The sims are a great place to explore and take advantage of photo op spaces. Highly recommended.
Hey guys, drop a SLURL for the dressing room! Also for the jewelry area if you find it. Four sims are a lot to navigate!
Tenshi, this is a great article on Amorepacific.
The creators would be thrilled to see this; sending the URL to them.
Glad you guys like it as much as I do.
I keep finding little gems:
