Hayden Palmira, known to many in Second Life as her old avatar, Dahlia Elide, passed away at 5:10am yesterday morning after attempting to fight off both pneumonia and the H1N1 virus in the ICU.
Her fiance, known in SL as Nicholas Sinatra, came online for a brief moment tonight to tell everyone what happened.
She was the love of my life, my fiancee, and the most amazing woman I’ve ever met. Rest in peace, baby.
Dahlia was there for me through some of the struggles I hit in my life, was always encouraging and listened. I loved her dearly, and this post hurts so much… everything I have to say sounds hollow and pathetic. The last time I spoke with her was on October 16th, and it was only briefly to drop her some funny little missive I had created. I had not seen her online since.
Dahl… we love you, babe.

She's such a lovely, intelligent, bright and breezy girl with so much ahead of her.
All this SL drama means nothing in the scheme of things.
Life can be taken away from us without warning and maybe people should concentrate more on that than the silly stuff that goes on in this virtual world.
Appreciate the people you love while we are here, appreciate your life….your real life.

That's so sad, Ten. My thoughts are with you all. Everyone take some time to grab your friends and fam, RL and SL, and give them some loving words. All this illness going around lately is nothing to shrug off. Hugs to SCD, Nicholas, and all who are reading.
I did not know her, but very much enjoyed the Bonnie & Clyde blog. My sympathies for Nicolas, her friends and family. May your store of beautiful memories keep her alive in your hearts forever.

Words can never come close to comforting how hard this is to everyone involved in a loss like this. Truly, my heart goes out to everyone effected. The virtual vs. RL aspects of a situation like this only make it harder as most will never get how real our "virtual" relationships are.

In all my time in second life, dahlia, had always been there and had even given me a christmas present last year. I have always loved her and cherished her thoughts and her encouragement she always was there through the toughest and even in Rl she was there for me, she will be missed incredibly, its funny because i was telling someone just yesterday how much i really really missed her.
Nic and Dahl……such a beautiful love story………never imagined it ending like this. Deepest condolences to all who knew her in both worlds.

I didn't know her but it's always sad to hear when someone passes away so prematurely. My condolences.
This is very scary because it could happen to anyone. Let's all take extra good care of ourselves this year, getting vaccinated and being vigilant. God bless her, may his face shine upon her and give her His peace.
I didn't have the pleasure of knowing her but my condolences for everyone's loss. This really brings to heart how important it is to tell those you love that you do, to mend fences if you can because you never know when you will no longer have that opportunity. *hugs to all* My sympathies go out her friends and family and anyone touched by her.
I will miss watching her attempt to censor Nic, when he starts to rant. Will miss how absolutely sweet she was whenever we spoke. Will miss all of her fashion sharing on plurk, she always gave such good RL fashion eye candy… and her amazing blogs.

Like many here, I did not know her personally but admired her as a blogger. The loss of a member of what is really quite a small community is always devastating, my deepest condolences to those she left behind, and may she rest in peace.

Yea, but stfu and give it the benefit of the doubt. WHAT IF those deaths are real? Its not worth risking it with foolish chatter. You just show how heartless you are and probably have not experienced any deaths in your family/people close to you so its easy for you to spout such nonsense.

I first met Nick and Dahlia in Crack Den and I attribute them to my then partner at the time learning how to dress himself nicely and not like a noob. Then I started to follow their blog and just chat with them at times though SL or plurk. She will be greatly missed by myself and many others.
