Pimp My Ride, Horse, Hoverboard, Whatever

I don’t drive anything in Second Life. I have a space shuttle I drag out on occasion when I’m feeling utterly geeky and I want to hide from people but for the most part, I walk everywhere. I’m not even good at flying, even with the assistance of a flight aid. But I started wondering about the wide array of SL vehicles and wondered what my friends had buried in their inventories, so I decided to showcase some of their rides here.

Bryn: I don’t like it. It’s fu*king hard to drive.

Gattina: Why do you own it?

Bryn: Well I thought it would be funny to fly around Immersiva on this

Gattina : But it wasn’t?

Bryn: Well I forgot to, but now you have reminded me. So I will do it later today.

Gattina: So you bought this car and you thought it would be funny to drive in and you forgot about it?
Bryn : Yes I do that fairly often, I mean I buy clothes too. And have you ever seen me wear anything else?
Gattina: Word. Good point.
Bryn: I am good at spending money.

Bryn: I will be a hover dictator.

Daniel: Because it is cool and unique and colorful.
Gattina: Do you have any other cars in SL?
Daniel: Yes, a Nissan Sentra.
Gattina: What else is interesting about your car?
Daniel : It has 3 gears, it is a robot dog, it makes noises.
Daniel: it is relevant to my interests.

Gattina: Callie, tell me about your car.

Callie: Abacus Minostrobel of AM Prorides made this for me because he loved my pictures. They were on a cover of a RL magazine in Greece. And so it’s special cuz it sorta commemortates the first time i was on a real life magazing cover.

Gattina: What was the name of the magazine?

Callie: PAZZAR.

Gattina: What does that mean in Greek?

Callie: No clue. But inside the mag I was on pages with Dolce and Gabbana and Christain Lacroix. But I was on the cover and not them.

Gattina: How many cars are in SL with your picture on them?

Callie: Oh, just three.

Gattina: JUST three? Callie, I think you have officially won the SL video game.

Gattina: OK Orhalla, why do you like this…. car.

Orhalla: I don’t, I cannot figure out how to ride it.

Gattina: I think you may have killed it.

Orhalla: I guess it is my favorite because a friend from the AKA Horse Ranch made it for me. I taught them how to build when they only got 1 fps a second.

Gattina: Why don’t you have your picture on a car like Callie does?

Orhalla: Because I don’t feel sexy enough for that.

Censored: It bumps.

Gattina: Can you knock over people with it?

Morrigan: There are a lot of options, especially the number of poses in it. There is also an adjustment feature so the avi can always sit perfectly on the bike.

Gattina: And do you feel like Prince in Purple rain when you drive it?

Morrigan: Well, I think I will always aspire to feel like Prince, haha.

Gattina: Allegory, tell me about your car!

Allegory: The Oui Coupe is from Curio Obscura, and has lots of fun options, aside from being a teeny tiny car you can squish yourself in and drive around. Thre are a number of different car colours and patterns you can choose, as well as choosing the plate colour. The plate also changes to the name of the person currently driving it (often trimmed a bit for length, skipping vowels)You can set it to be driven by just yourself, or by anyone- I leave a number around the Starlust sims open to anyone to drive. When I find them and drive them, I try to leave them parked in improbable places. Like on top of most of the different versions of the Thimbles buildings….and managing to get on top of and _park_ of a giant sphere is sooo not easy! (I also park them on top of the motel, on top of the dinosaur, and drive them down from skyboxes when I add a new one.) it’s also a REALLY good thing SL doesn’t require driver’s licenses, because I would soooo fail.

This has totally made me wanna go buy some vehicles on SL. What do you ride? Why do you love it?
