“Sarcoma Awareness”
Hello SCD folk! I wanted to give a little synopsis on what SLraw is all about…
First and foremost, this is not a blog, this is a photography showcase. I will give a list of the stores featured, and they will be included in the tags for the post but reviews & slurls will not be a part of these posts. This column features pictures taken in Second Life and posted on SCD without any touch up or post processing. I do crop & add borders, but that is the extent. All lights & shadows are manipulated using the settings available in SL 2.1 and pictures are taken with graphics set on ‘high’
Stores Featured: Surf Couture, Chaisuki, fri.day, Olive Juice

Lovely photo, are you going to also include the settings you’ve used?
It is a lovely photo! Yeah and for us computer porn people what is your rig? (I will keep nagging you till you tell me hah)
as far as settings, i just play with the sliders in the environment editor till i fine something i like.
Kess, it’s a Gateway DX4831, Hubby got it for me for my 30th
This *is* a pretty picture, but I guess I’m just not seeing the *point* of these posts. SL is full of amazing photographers and artists…what is supposed to make these so special? The fact that they’re just cropped and framed, with no post process?
@Confused.
Yes. I admire people who can do SL photography without post process. COMPLETELY without post process. I also admire people who take damn good pictures which is why SCD has the amazing bloggers it does. They do all different kinds of pictures and they all do amazing work that I am awed at. (Thank you, SCD bloggers, for all the work you do! <3)
I don’t think it’s confusing to have SL Photography on a fashion blog. Maybe that’s just me, oh well if it is.
Resident submissions are open though, you are welcome to create a post of something you’d like to see on SCD.
wow, not sure even how to respond to that. So, because SL is full of amazing photographers and artists, there’s no room for more, or for people who may not be ‘amazing’ to aspire to that?
Sorry, I didn’t mean for my comment to sound insulting…and of course there’s always room for more photogs, and Cady your pictures are very lovely. I too admire the ability to take a good pic inworld with little to no post process. It’s a brave way to approach the medium.
It’s just that the other posts that feature pictures usually have a bit more “meat” to them. More detailed information about the clothes featured, or about where they were taken, etc.
I didn’t mean to criticize…It’s your blog, and you can post what you want after all. I guess I just thought there’d be a little more to it than that.
Never mind me…carry on.
I didn’t take it as insulting I do like to remind people that they can post stuff themselves (small plug lol). Anywho, I asked Cady to just do the pictures. It’s me who believes a picture speaks more than 1000 words. But I am sure Cady will evolve her posts as time goes on. Still don’t mind if anyone submits
(hahaha sorry!)
As a sarcoma survivor, I’m curious about the title of the photo. Was this taken for a sarcoma event or publication? I am wondering now if there is a sarcoma network in SL I was unaware of. Must check it out.
Kerryth,
I hope to join your ranks! I was diagnosed with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans on August 5th. I just underwent a wide excision surgery in hopes of lessening the chance of re-occurrence. I did this photo shorty after my diagnosis. I looked around SL for sunflower jewelry, but didn’t see anything.. (/me winks and nudges Kess LOL) I haven’t heard of a group, but maybe someone else will see this and reach out as well.
