What more can you ask for?

I had never used FilterCam2 before the other day. I had purchased FilterCam for friends as gifts but never thought to get it for myself, mostly because I am horrible at photography in Second Life (and lets face it Real Life too!). But Codie, of Mechanized Life, asked me to look at FilterCam and write a review and I said I’d get someone to take pictures for me and she said, “No try it, you can test how easy it is to use.”

So I sat, surrounded by my cats, and unboxed FilterCam and the expansion pack. I wore the FilterCam HUD and poked around looking at the contents and clicking on it. I then looked over the Expansion pack folder. Even though I work in a profession where it is important to RTFM I tend to poke around first. My initial thoughts was “this thing is built pretty sweet”.
I imported the expansion pack into FilterCam without incident.

Basically FilterCam is set up with notecards to do the menu setup and textures for the filter. So to add the expansion  pack to your FilterCam all you  have to do is rez the HUD copy the contents of the expansion pack folder into the HUD, reset the script and take back into inventory and wear. Once you wear you set up your shot and click the HUD that’s minimized and the overlay comes up. Long click on the HUD to get the menu drop down and test filters. The filters are customizable – you can make your own and you also have different layers of the filter. I didn’t get into the advanced features but they are available. The expansion pack is filled with all sorts of awesome grungy and dirty filters. I am sure you can guess my favorites: the rifle scope ones.

The first picture I took was the one above. See how talented I am? I accidentally repositioned the HUD off my screen. Yup. I am that awesome.

I wanted to take a picture with my handgun, however it wouldn’t draw out of it’s holster. It worked before the last update so *shrug*.
