Launched in beta today, SecondList.org is the free answer to those overblown, horribly pricey Second Life classifieds. The site was developed by Kesseret Steeplechase, using the god-awful Ruby on Rails. But Kess prevailed! And lo, we have a new classifieds area. SecondList will tie in with Metavirtual.us and Shopping Cart Disco, so advertising for clients will be available on all THREE sites!
What do you think? Features? Suggestions?

I dumped the original rails application. Not only did it cost me a couple of ulcers but it was going to cost me more hosting.
This is PHP my MySQL. My two very favorite lovers.
And not open source, the other one was but this one is not, though my license allows me to have the source.
I think Kess is a genius! <3
@Whispers <3 You rock hard, yourself
ALCON:
Secondlist is still in beta! I am still making tweaks to the site. The Secondlist blog will announce it's grand opening once I am satisfied it all works proper and looks nice.
Do feel free to play around and suggest stuff.
Thank you Kess!
Sure has a whole lot of categories to add there. No place for complete avatars, etc. Maybe add clothes sections for shoes, etc.
Looks great. Tried the faddy new age geeky stuff and went back to tried and proven eh? Don’t blame ya.
What about generic store ads? Allowed?
@ Truth Sayer
I am torn about generic store ads I think I will make a category for store advertisements specifically. The for sale section I would prefer it to be used stuff either for giving away or for sale. What do you think? I’d love some feedback and input on what I can do (I am not a master at php at all so what I did to modify what I had was very very difficult for me) to make it happen.
And yes, holy jeebus, I don’t know if it was Ruby or the passenger apache combo that was bringing down the server or the actual rails app but I couldn’t deal with it anymore. It was flakey, and what I know about php could be considered genius to what I know about rails and the like.
Nice work, Kesseret
