Goodbye, 2008

What a kick in the mouth kind of year you were. Good riddance to 2008.

That being said, Iris and I thought we would round up the most memorable drama of the year. We both sorted the year’s top posts at SCD (which ranks by number of hits) and the bits that really stuck in our heads. Without further ado – we list down to the number one drama of 2008!

10. One Bad Apple, Two Bad Apples, Three: Encore , who is quite possibly the first person to get herself kicked off of the Fashion Feed, Tessy Kaos, who effed up many shopowner’s safehavens by going all batshit, and the YOU RUINED MY LIFE! reactions from Hair Fair 08.

9. The Closing of Linden Lifestyles, one of SL’s first fashion blogs and the one most touted by the Lindens.

8. Skin Theft #3: Mallory Cowen vs. Hart Larsson

7. Skin Theft #2: Starley Thereian vs. Those Full Perm Freebie Douchebags.

6. Digit Darkes vs. Bianca F. Lulz aplenty here, folks, take home leftovers!

5. (Mostly) Anonymous Gossip Blogs that sprung up like weeds in the sidewalk – GoFugYourSL, CustomersAgainstTheft, SecondGossip, WeHateWhatYou’reWearing, SLH8, and the “Worst of the Feeds” Flickr Account, which has been disabled.

4. Banned from Armidi (Also known as, “zomg Armidi is the corporate DEVIL!” … SCD loves Armidi though, with all of our grinchy hearts.)

3. Plurk, which has introduced a whole new Drahmaz center from which to nurture and grow Dramatic Goodness. It has given us such lovelies such as The BlackMoon Fashion Drama, it assisted the Encore Drama, and we are looking forward to a 2009 Plurk-filled year. (Find Iris and Tenshi on Plurk.)

2. SL Secrets, which have had 50,000 (!!1ZOMG!!!1!1ONE!!!) hits since they began. (Submit your SL Secrets here!)

1. Skin Theft #1: , Danae vs. Minnu Palen. This one needs no further comment.

The drama we’re most looking forward to in the new year? Simone Stern vs. Legend City Online. LCO is currently holding Simone Stern’s account and inventory hostage until she pays her rent. Prad has already commented on it, and we’ve had a running discussion over at SLUniverse.

To date, (before and after the move to the new server) SCD has served 551,903 people their daily dose of Second Life Fashion and Drama. We love you guys! (Shameless plug: If YOU want your SL business to be seen by over 30,000 users a month AND GROWING, CLICK HERE!)
