From the For Erica event website:
Announcing the For Erica event where we can gather to celebrate and remember Erica Wilson Mount, known also in Second Life and Plurk as Erica Harcourt.
Erica unexpectedly passed away on December 26th at the age of 30. She is the wife of Michael and the mother of 10 year-old Madison, 6 year-old Natalie and 4 year-old Royce. Despite her busy real life, Erica maintained an online presence through Second Life and Plurk. Because her online friends are far and diverse, what better way to honor Erica than to come together and support each other during this time.
Therefore, on Saturday, January 12th at 12:00pm PST (SL time) we will host an event at Club Rouge for Erica. Codie has graciously extended use of her club and both Anubis and Ruff have agreed to DJ two hours each. Also, any tips and donations received will be sent by myself directly to the Wounded Warriors Project and donated in Erica’s name. I will provide screenshots via this blog so everyone can track the donations. However, if you prefer to donate to the Wounded Warriors Project yourself, you may go to the Wounded Warriors Project page and donate in Erica’s honor.
Erica was a supporter of the Wounded Warriors Project. This organization provides benefits and services to wounded soldiers and their families. Erica’s family also asked that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in lieu of flowers. So she would be thrilled that people gave in her honor.
Additionally, feel free to click the “Submit” link at the top of this blog so you can add any stories, messages, pictures or links about Erica, if you wish. They don’t have to just be about Second Life either.
Lastly, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jelivianne Grenville in Second Life or Jeli on Plurk.
