I’m not a person to usually to comment unless I feel very strongly about a article. I agree, lag was awful but it always seems to be that way. I have a HUGE pet peeve about people that show up primified. I strip down to basics, tee, shorts, my 10 prim flats and the lowest prim hair. I turn down my graphics and draw distance. Detach anything that is not necessary.

I was like WTF with the “backstage” area in the hair booths. What were they thinking? The whole point of hair fair is to *sell your merchandise*. You can’t do that if your crashing, or waiting for a area that never rezs fully.

My point to be made is “keep it simple” with avatars and fairs.

hi Dancien, I wholeheartedly agree with your article. I always wondered why they have to decorate up fairs. We’re not there to see how nice everything looks, were there to look at the hair, clothing, jewelry, shoes etc. I like the one colour, 3 prim thing

I would love to see someting like if you tp in and you’re wearing over a fixed amount of prims, say 100, you’re booted from the sim I don’t go to these things to look at what people are wearing, i want to see the stuff I’m there to buy. ;b

If you refuse to credit a creator on request, it’s going to look shady, like you don’t want to admit to wearing their stuff because they’re known for stealing, or you ripped the eyes yourself, or some other shit. And when you freak out because people even dared to bring up the subject… yeah, you just upped the shady quotient by about one million.

If copybot didn’t exist maybe people wouldn’t get so hung up about transparency. But it does. So they do.

It’s a big shame, I loved Emerald. But the alternatives out there are great. Imprudence is lovely, although the pie menus take some getting used to, Kirsten’s is good if you can tolerate the 2.0 layout, and now even Phoenix is TPV compliant, and apart from the default colours and the lack of sneaky, identical to Emerald.

Its a sad day, Emerald was a fantastic viewer which raised the bar for all of our expectations of what a viewer should be, but without getting into the politics of the whole incident, nothing of value has been especially lost.

well, around 6+ people asked her on the blog where they were from in a single post. she made the comments visible, then ignored them. then when people asked why they were being ignored, she deleted all of the comments. they were all polite.

if you want to “keep something to yourself”, then don’t blog fashion… the whole point is to share what you’ve found on the grid.

eyes (poses, lashes, etc) aren’t always credited in sl fashion blogs but i’ve never seen someone so uptight about “revealing” the information when asked.

I am with Melanie on this one. If someone doesn’t credit an item they are wearing in a blog post it’s plenty easy to ask them in a comment or inworld. Being polite is the key, though. You do catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar.

Blogging is a pretty open ended medium. I’m with Jerry Springer when he told his little Congressional hearing “If you don’t like what is on the TV then change the channel.” The Internet works the same way.

I hope to join your ranks! I was diagnosed with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans on August 5th. I just underwent a wide excision surgery in hopes of lessening the chance of re-occurrence. I did this photo shorty after my diagnosis. I looked around SL for sunflower jewelry, but didn’t see anything.. (/me winks and nudges Kess LOL) I haven’t heard of a group, but maybe someone else will see this and reach out as well.

As a sarcoma survivor, I’m curious about the title of the photo. Was this taken for a sarcoma event or publication? I am wondering now if there is a sarcoma network in SL I was unaware of. Must check it out.
