1. Just tell him how you feel.
2. You know what to do, tell him fo F*** off.
3. This is something that irks me. RL affords us the ability to be on SL. I lost a friend because their SL wedding was the same time that I worked or went to school. I have no shame when I say RL is first before anything on SL.
4. Sorry but I think adults playing SL children is sick just my personal opinion but to each their own. Your adult “child” now hooked up with another adult get over it. Strange situations usually have strange outcomes.
5. Just leave the group. Maybe some other people aren’t bothered by it. You can’t dictate what someone else decides to do with their group.
6. Whatever floats your boat.
7. The only CEO is SL. If this crap tanks everything is done. No one really owns anything in it but Linden Labs.
8. See #6

7. Festive graphic, eh? The RAF attacking secret Mormon mountain bomb shelter, where the snow is a subliminal yiffy distress signal to the flying saucer aliens in high earth orbit.
Right?

1. Beautiful picture, nice sentiment.
2. Go for the one that isn’t gonna hurt you and stop being such a victim. You did this to yourself.
3. I think that perhaps you should go find a RL, too.
4. For one, people who RP kids are just wrong. Then you add in a man that’s sexually attracted to a child. I hope that this man realizes what a stone cold pederast he is.
5.
6. That’s not very cool, but then again, I’ve ejected douchenozzles from my group.
7. To me CEO means Circumcision Envy Organization.
8. Ok, fag. Enjoy!!
9. Grow some balls. It’s the internet, not sunday dinner with your parents…
blahblahblahwhatever

#8 its really horrible when people criticize others for things they enjoy which may not be their idea of manhood. Keep having fun =]

hi all, ty for letting me take this opportunity to clear up a few mis-statements here on this blog.
1. i have never retextured something “old” and released it as something new. the truth is i’m pretty busy with SL work (not just my shop) and RL jobs. so the fact is i get out stuff late and new stuff even too. also, some ppl find my older things and “think” they are new, when they are not. i’ve never redone ads, (though i’ve wanted to) and besides “galaxy girl” which is a modded top of “summer in cannes” & bottoms (which was redone way back when) i’m not sure of other “things” that are the same things with new textures.
i do have over 60 things i’ve not put out, and have just recently decided to make new stuff and get those out first… (i.e. swan song, swan sirens, taRty paRty… more coming soon! lol, hahaha)
i wish i was faster in getting things out, i only have so much time
so yeah often things that were seen in shows when “new” and don’t even come out for months later.
2. a few friends and let each of our groups know when we do sales and stuff. most of our customers have enjoyed it and had a blast, but like any group, you can’t please everyone all the time.
thanks for reminding me in a way to perhaps get more focused when i do create new things to them out quicker, it’s something i really really wish i was much better at.
have a great holiday season!! xoxo,
caLLie

Wow, just wow. Callie is one of the sweetest, most enthusiastic people I have had to pleasure to meet in Second Life – she is supportive of other designers and always generous and positive in her interactions with others. I agree with Bianca – this level of vitriol can only be motivated by jealousy.

Goddammit, guys. I’m so disappointed in you right now. It was one thing for the submitter of #5 to upload it knowing it broke the rules, but entirely another to jump all over it like that. Namil (sp?) has been banned and I’m taking out the secret and editing out any comments about it.
Callie is one of the most talented, sweetest and generous people I’ve met in SL and you guys want to get into it with her over her subscription group?
This is the kind of reaction we closed comments on SLsecret over before, so consider this a warning.

hey iris,
to clarify, it’s wasn’t about “my” group, but one of my collaborator and friends (not sure which) as a few of us have let our groups know of the others’ sales, specials, etc. we’ve decided to do this in the spirit of just supporting each other and thus far our groups have really appreciated it. it’s just an infrequent thing, maybe happened 5 times total in the past months and we reserve it for events we think our groups may enjoy.
so the “secret” wasn’t about “my” group… though i do the same with my group for events, designers, or anything i feel they might enjoy. i’m not always right, but they seem to have fun…
that’s the beauty of SL, we can all do things how we like. it’s a big pond out there!!
ok well i’m off to TRY to blog some new stuff, i made the most adorable christmas trees, hope to get them out THIS YEAR, hahahaah
xoxo,
caLLie

Wait a min, you allow someone to take digs at lucky kitty group and their leader but not oh-so-famous callie cline?
At least you don’t have to pay for the privledge of spam in lucky kitty crew…
i understand she wants to support other designers but she can do it in her store over charging people for group access to do it.

I was told about this site just now and a little of what went on here about “secret number 5″ – I am more than a little upset.
The petty little squabbles that some people might choose to interject into something like this should not be taken seriously and neither should the people involved.
I suggest you change your format, or at the very least moderate comments made blindly by people that are meant to provoke that kind of response and reaction.

Ditto what Cat said.
It’s gross hypocrisy to let one very obvious jab up and yet take down another. I have had my issues with the person referenced in #6, but I continue to think that this whole “SL Secret” business is a horrid idea to begin with.
SL Secrets should be primarily about the person submitting them. It should not be about other people, and certainly people shouldn’t be allowed to get around it by the lame framing of, “I secretly wish you wouldn’t .”
Since you already exert editorial control, Iris, by deciding what follows the rules and what doesn’t, why not require that the secrets be about the person submitting them and that all submitted secrets will be evaluated in that light before deciding whether they merit posting?
Besides #6, I think #7 is also not in the spirit of “secrets”, and I’d go further and say that #4 isn’t either.

Lucas, the comments *were* previously closed for a week, and in response, a whole new blog was created by an outside source so people could respond immediately. And from personal experience, I can say many comments are moderated, such as those that have links in them.
Mistakes happen, as much as wrath does. Be happy Iris + co. did take steps to correct things.

thank you once again for the opportunity to clarify something said here.
i just recently started to charge for my group for ONE simple reason. to avoid griefers who join and SPAM soliciting for sex, sales, and other things, then immediately leave.
for the record not ONE person has paid, if someone wants to join, i will personally allow them to and even after i started charging i “opened it back up for free” so ppl who left by accident can join and just this week, put up the charge again.
also, i give out TONS of freebies and very exclusive things to my group weekly if not more. i have a very cool relationship with my group and charging was a way to make sure those who really want “in” want “in”.
(i also have a fund that certain group members have set up who wanted other “caL gaLs” to be able to have certain items they can’t afford)
also, group charging is done by MANY ppl in SL from “tuli” to MMS tons of ppl in between.
other than that, i won’t discuss how i run my group, if people want to know they can certainly inquire. my main objective is to serve the ones who do join who like and enjoy my group… we all have our own reasons.
thanks for the opportunity to clarify. and i extend an invite to anyone who would like to know why i do what i do to send me a notecard if you wish.
xoxo,
caLLie
p.s. i do think the whole idea of “secrets” should be rethought, i know it can be very cathartic for people to let out hurts and secrets that they carry inside which can be good, but for the ones that can harm someone’s business, reputation, etc, it’s really imho inappropriate to do so this way and takes a lot of time and energy away from things that can be more productive.

1) Wow, that’s gorgeous. Very well done.
2) What’s the heart to your soul? I think I’m having one of those “my brain isn’t like most people’s” moments here, as loving two people is not something I find impossible.
3) RL comes first is all true. But yeah, having just been dumped over RL becoming more important and eating more time myself, it still sucks in the “a good reason doesn’t override the end of a dream feeling like ass” sort of way.
4) Narc ‘em out for ageplay if she’s still in kid mode. Please.

Agree with Callie here, this has just become a griefing tool now made for making drama. its funny how you allow certain businesses to be griefed yet others you get all upset about…talk about double standards.

I think you guys may forget that I’m not the All-Seeing Drama Whisperer. I don’t actually know what most of these things are about. If you see one about you that you want taken down, IM me or email me like Callie did. Then it comes down. Simple as that, my friends.

So, it’s ok to target people, such as the father-daughter thing, but not ok to go after stores?
Granted, there’s a difference between sharing grief or fuming and slandering someone. As Iris has mentioned, if it’s totally clear what something is about or if someone e-mails her, it will not get posted or it will be taken down. Really, a lot of the names of what they’re about are stirred up by the comments here. I’m like Callie Cline and shop there, but I didn’t notice the fine details of who it was about until Callie actually commented.

The problem being, Iris, that it’s your project, and therefore you’re the person “responsible” for it. Once it’s been put up, even for a short period, it’s out, and you can’t _really_ fix it.
I do wish the secrets were less a vehicle for attacks, and more like the first one in this post. Beautiful, personal, and a real “secret.” But we live in a fairly small world, which breeds drama.
The shortlived post after this one with the nsaty pseudo secrets didn’t really help anything, either.

the ONLY reason i commented, and the only reason i would in the future on blogs like this, is when my business ethics and practices are misrepresented.
i don’t mind if people don’t like my things, think i suck, or whatever… we all have our own tastes, opinions, etc.

where is that bear from in number 8, extra virtual?
Well Iris now you know some other cards here are direct attacks on people do you really have to wait for said people to come here, probably dragged here by hateful gossip and drama, and feel so offended they have to email you to have things removed?
Sheesh.
Personally number 9 is my favourite, not so much with this secret but certainly with past ones. I hope the secret feature stays, it is fun, sure some sneak though but on the whole, it’s delicious gossip!

Re #6
This is the SECOND SL Secret slamming the owner of the Lucky Kitty Crew. I remained silent on the first one out of respect for her request to ignore the drama, but this is BS.
It’s 1 person who has taken it as their personal asshat mission in life to grief the shit out of her. And it’s not cool.
She is the one of the most generous, friendly, and giving people I know on SL. I’m glad I met her and proud to call her my friend.
Shame on you anonymous griefer loser person.

I just want to throw my personal opinion in here real quick.
I love Callie Cline’s group and am sad that people are being mean about it (when I get messages I don’t want it takes like half a second to click the red x…deal with it)
I have had my…um..issues with lucky kitty crew and left it. BUT I think it is kind of sad that an insult is a “secret”. If the person had written something like “I kiss your butt because I am afraid of getting kicked out” or whatever it would be different. But the “secret” is just a slam and should be removed.
I am curious about what the CEO one is about…I hate when i can’t figure it out haha.
