Hola SCD readers! My name is Elizabeth Hallstrom and I have been blogging for sometime on my own personal site for a while. But I love Shopping Cart Disco and I am so happy to be a part of the SCD Family now! So my lovely readers, for my first post on SCD I have decided to go back to my SL fashion beginnings and talk a little about a close friend and designer who was a big influence on my SL fashion sense. But first a little about me:
I began my second life in the electronic music scene of SL including what I refer to as the Holy Trinity of Second Life electronic clubs – Alpha Box, Trash Palace and Dogglounge. Trash Palace in particular was huge influence in my early days of SL. It was not only a source of many long lasting friendships for me but it was a early meeting place for quite a few fashion success stories, including Akemi Yoshikawa of Akeyo and Dave Attenborough of REACT. One of the “Trashers” I became close to was Alfred Kabuki of F.A.T Designz.
Alfred and I met soon after he launched F.A.T in the Spring of 07 while we both lurked about the dance floor of Trash Palace. The look of Trash and F.A.T went hand and hand – Urban, Industrial, Dark and Cool. Soon after we met, Alfred showered me with many gifts from F.A.T Designz including their bold, graphic tees, unisex pants and accessories. Alfred, along with his business partner Juke Menges, has launched a brand that has become a fashion staple among the electronic music scene in SL.
For the photo shoot I chose as my location the Flagship store of F.A.T Designz located in the aptly named F.A.T Plaza. Along with the store, there is also an electronic club where Alfred throws fabulous parties with some of the best electronic DJs in SL. Recently installed is an amazing visual display on the walls of the club which was designed personally by Alfred.
Graphic tees are the speciality at F.A.T. So for this shoot I chose one of my favorites – the F.A.T Japan tank. I paired it with the Ace – Style Scarf and Ladies Wrist Band StyleZ. F.A.T has recently plunged into the world of accessories and I love what they have done so far. And with the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere turning to Fall, this scarf is definately worth snatching up. The prim work of the scarf is nothing short of fantastic and includes little silver charms such as the F.A.T logo. Also featured at F.A.T are unisex pants that feature dark industrial prints which are modifiable to allow the buyer to adjust to his or her physique. For women in particular, Alfred and his designers have done an excellent job of creating layered tanks in a variety or prints and colors.
F.A.T has several locations throughout the Grid and is truly a driving force in the urbanwear industrial genre of SL fashion. And F.A.T Plaza not only features the flagship store and club but also other stores such as AVZ, Digital Eyes and Born. So TP on over to F.A.T Designz Plaza to check out the amazing build and stores. And don’t forget to check out the basement club and the incredible visual walls with its glowing colors of blue and red. Full details about the look can be found below. Ciao and Hugs!

Since I posted way late German time and Alfred was slumbering away in his bed in Frankfurt, I didnt get to mention the other team members at F.A.T:
Henric Fride: Jr. Designer
Betty Tracer: Photographer and F.A.T primary blogger.
Betty and Henric were also Trash Palace “Trashers” like Alfred and myself and they have made many contributions to the success of the brand! Kudos to you Ladies!

I do believe that this is the first blog in months and months that Elizabeth has not mentioned her ex (the uberdouche, Dane Koba) or the fact that she has fallen from some sort of upper echelon on SL society.
YAY for finally STFU-ing about your SL social life and finally writing something that doesn’t make me wanna punch you.

Oops Golda, I apologize that you didn’t pick up on the irony in my postings or know that in world I am often seen wearing the tag – I am “somebody” in SL. In other words, I am making of fun of the SLebrities in SL. Thanks for posting – always love a different opinion good or bad.
