Dancing Shoes and Big Smiles

Yesterday, Tenshi and I attended the Footwear Expo’s runway show. It took place on a Rezzable sim and surely lived up to what the Rezzables represent in my mind.

The stage was unique, using glowing white cubes and smoke to achieve a upscale effect that showcased the shoes entirely. An urban setting, sparse trees and simple bleachers all focused attention on the designs without taking away the feeling of an event.
The models, from Metro Models and Hathor Models respectively, wore gray skins reminiscent of Japanese ball-jointed dolls and walked sans hair and clothing. Duckyfresh Watanabe, my personal favorite SL DJ and announcer, emceed the show with humor and grace.
Lag was a bit of an issue for some, but it could have been much worse and many attendees were happy to strip lower their prim counts for the good of the show.
Models walked the stage from left and right and posed on cubes to display the shoes. The notecard I was using fitzed out and I had to remember the designers and shoe names from memory, so if I messed any up let me know in the comments and I’ll correct it. Here are some of my favorites:

Lotus by Adam n Eve

Hoorenbeek-Low Top Allstars

Cobbler Boots by TOSL

Paper Couture

Bax Ankleboots by Bax Coen
So that was the Footwear Expo 2008 Runway Show!

Wow, I love the idea of the clean slate to display the shoes.

It was a bit creepy and disconcerting to be honest, Thema, but it really did exhibit the shoes. I guess it’s just something to get used to.

Well I’m glad you think it represents Rezzable…but other than donating the Sims we’re using for the fair, Rezzable has nothing to do with the fair.
Everything you see in the work with the stage and the idea was Alaska, Delora, myself and Catero.
