Warning: These Clothes are Bland!
Posted on 15. Apr, 2008 by admin in Dress-Up, New Designers
The Bland Brand (Ohh! That rhymed) is established by Chav Paderborn. It’s new, it’s different and absolutely unique. I even like the name and it is nothing close to being bland at all. The brand name is the anti-thesis of bland and boring!
I want to talk about two particular pieces that Chav dropped me a few days before; the Superkawaii top (part of an outfit) and the Plunge Dress — maybe then, you’ll be converted to being a bland as well *winks*

Bland Store Front
When I first heard of Bland, it was in a fashcon notice with a texture of the type of clothes Chav offered. There was this one particular dress that caught my eye. I am a sucker for low plunging necklines in Second Life. It’s dramatic, sexy and nearing (but not crossing) the line of slutty — Chav’s version of a low plunging neckline deters you from thinking of it as slutty, more like girl-next-door meets Audrey Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The puff sleeves have the right amount of shading and the skirts fit perfectly with the dresses whole theme. The creases and folds are very realistic that I swear I felt like it is RL cloth.

Plunge Dress in Red
And there’s the Superkawaii top. It is the epitome of kawaii (or cute, if you’re oblivious to Gwen Stefani or do not speak japanese). It actually also came with a bottom however for the purpose of trying to show how great the clothes are, I chose to just show the top. I am amazed how great this top looks even though it is a flat texture slapped on my body. Just like the Plunge Dress above, it has the right amount of shading to give the impression of a three dimensional clothe.

Superkawaii Top
Child-like quality of the tank reminds me of the days when I could have probably wore that in RL and have gotten away with it. The buttons that hold the straps and the top together is charming, it adds such a nice touch to the already cute design, and just like the Plunge Dress, the creases are wonderful with the right amount of highlights and lowlights to produce such quality texture on the top.
Bland is a mish mash of many different styles. I would show you more however I can only do so much with the hands that I was given, hence showcasing only two outfits. I do encourage you to take a look at Bland’s selection, mix and match and see what works for you — because I know Bland might have something that is to your style. Thanks Chav!
Yours Truly,

There are actually 2 creators at Bland: Along with Chav is Rachel Breaker who’s created some amazingly creative crazy stuff there as well…

It’s so good you blogged Bland Portia
A lot of the outfits are made with a sense of humour, which I love! I couldn’t resist buying the taxi driver oufit, oh yes – complete with blood splats and hugely oversized hat and boots. It’s a store I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on

haha I love the goldfish pants. I didn’t get to blog about it since I want to keep sane and not take too many photos.
