    3. Well, if whatever’s going on SLT time and i should be asleep, i’m gonna sleep.

    5. Yeah it’s hard to find your own look i think, probably felt better spending your lindens on a donation than spending it looking like a clone anyway :)

    8. Traffic = People being there, not looking or buying. Traffic means nothing if nobody buys your stuff.

    9. Because.. it isn’t actually free, duh?

    10. I was gonna post my own secret saying basically this, but didn’t know how to word it, so cheers and i’m the same about somboday haha :D

    #2 made me super-smile.
#1 makes me feel, like many SL Secret entries, like I’m a ditzbomb who doesn’t get it.
    #4 kind of gave me a mini-heart-murmur. WOW. :<

    i want to hug #6.
#11 makes me feel like i'm in a horror movie.

#5. If you’re not quite up to par with making a full skin, but still able to photoshop a little, I’d really recommend using Eloh’s skin bases. Did the same for myself, because I was frustrated with being unable to find what I was looking for on the market. Tinted it, gave myself some nifty facial tattoos, some extra body detail and replaced the lips. I’ve had a few people ask me which store I picked it up from.

lol does there even a week go by without “secrets” about truth? I dunno what the guy did and i don’t wanna know but appearantly his doings are interesting enough for many many ppl to talk about. Idc, <3 his hair! LOL

    Ehmm i don't get #1.

Rest is pretty clear… #11 is kinda too obvious too oh and the "gifts" aren't gifts if they are priced 1 L$. freebie and dollarbie. easy :P

#5 I really don’t get people like #5. So what if someone else is wearing it. If you define yourself by what other people are wearing in SL you got much bigger problems then fear of being generic.

Do not understand #5 either. I used to strip in dollarbie Eloh mods, nobody ever complained. There are gajillions of skins on the grid, and if you’re worried that less fashionable creators will be of lesser quality (I generally don’t find them so, but YMMV), demos are your friend. Ditto hair.

Believe it or not, you are actually allowed to shop in places that don’t get featured on the fashion feed every week, and if you don’t want to look ‘generic’ it’s probably a good idea.

Blingtardette, the few times I’ve stopped in to strip/sex areas, most of the skins there looked disgusting. Eloh skins are lovely, especially in comparison. So I agree.

I wear Laq but I also don’t care whether I look like other people. I make it unique in other ways. Just wearing the same skin doesn’t automatically mean you look like others.

There’s this girl who wears my skin, and well, let’s just say she doesn’t wear it well. X3

    1. There isn’t 1 “FIC” which means there is no FIC.

    2. Maybe bad grammar is a fantacy?

    3. SLT doesn’t bother me. The only thing ticking me off lately is recieving notices where the creator didn’t state a time for the event. I hate logging in and TPing to something that ended hours earlier.

    5. Try shopping somewhere that isn’t extremly popular. I used to get pissed about that too but I haven’t had a problem in about a year. I haven’t ran into anyone wearing the last 2 skins I’ve worn. Also try adjusting your face shape to make it more personal.

    7. Find someone who can help you.

    8. I’ve gone through my files and put something on and wondered if the creator has other things I like. Extra sales may not be instant but real shoppers will come back.

    9. It’s not free but you could be paying 100+ for it. If you can’t part with 5L then don’t buy it.

Maybe try meeting ppl irl who have same interests as you do? Do something you enjoy: painting or cooking…

There are plenty of websites to use when trying to connect with others..don’t give up yet :)

#12 I know where you are coming from.

I’m successful RL, have a great circle of friends, good job. I’m not bad looking – not model beautiful, but not hit in the face with a shovel fugly either.

My Second Life AV is a model and is in one of the big agencies. I don’t go overboard with mentioning it in my profile SL (there’s more to me than walking up and down a prim catwalk – it’s just for meeting people), or at all on my profile on the website I think you’re referring to.

My picture is up there. I think it’s pretty and cute.

It makes me upset sometimes when I get passed up over the blingtard girls with the “I don’t bite, hard LOL!!!!” profiles. Or in the case of somebody who I really like at the moment, getting pushed away for his, what he referred to as “crazy bitch” ex on her day old alt.

However I do find comfort in the fact that their “true love” partnership will have the shelf life of about three months. Or the guy will return after a couple of weeks on an alt to cheat on her.

    Cynical? Me? Never!

I’m now putting my energies into starting over, learning to make clothes, attending classes. Trying to get some people with the same interests as me.

You’re cute and famous RL. You have a lot more than a lot of people. Plus you use a nice font. I like you already.

#5 Having your personal style has nothing to do with how many or how few people are wearing the same skin.

#12 Ahem.. why did you send them ‘little notes’ if you regard them as ‘bimbos’? Maybe you should be more selective.

  24. Naoki Ninetails

    Nov 23rd, 2009

@Isara: “Ahem”? Really? LOL. What a snotty thing to say. Nice blog.

@#11: Okay, I’ve had a few days to think about it. I hope you’ve stopped being a pussy and just said it to the person’s face, because I don’t feel hot or sexy about it. Grow a pair.

#12 I think there is a lot of people in the same boat.

I remember a while back on SL Secret there was somebody saying that they spend a lot of time, money, creativity etc on their AV. They went to dance clubs with the hope of meeting somebody, only to get getting passed over for a newbie who did nothing with their AV. True, isn’t just about looks, but rejection hurts, no matter who it is from.

Isara: yes sometimes, somebody may “lower their standards” in the hope of getting ANYONE to notice them, just for that little rush of excitement, or maybe hoping that that person would change in time. I don’t know, I can’t explain it.

/me kisses #12 on the nose.

Message me in SL so I can hug the fuck out of you, and make you feel better. And tell you a little story that may help with your situation.

#12 you realize that you are probably just too intelligent for them, right? You are less easy to fool, and they know it.

    # 11 file a DMCA.

    # 7 Actually, I feel your pain. Maybe start small, really small and chip away at it daily. (I know)

    # 6 that is not a secret, that’s just negativity and being petty.
